Farewell, My Lovely/Monkey Shines by David Shire

Demetrius and the Gladiators by Franz Waxman

Two more great releases and another $40 I've got to spend!

Wow! Great news from FSM but not for my bank account. I still haven't picked up Morituri, Illustrated Man, or Henry Orient yet. Still, I can't tell them to slow down. I had a tape of Monkey Shines--alas, one less to trade with (this seems to be happening quite regularly). Farewell is a great score as is D&G. Lukas, keep 'em comin'

We are all gonna be broke at this rate. I have bought several of these FSMs and Prometheus CDs. All great, but my wallet has moths flying out now. John.

and don't forget about the titles Intrada's releasing soon:

The Barbarian and the Geisha and SIlver Streak, and I think some more titles from BYU.

At least Lukas is back to releasing only 2 CDs a month. For several months there he was doing three...and of course, they're all must buys (but I'm trying to resist...really I am).

on the one hand this is a good problem to have...too many film scores to choose from...I'm in hog heaven over here. but, on the other hand, the wallet's taking a beating.

Not too familiar with Monkey Shines, though I've got a re-recorded Silva track. Farewell My Lovely is absolutely brilliant. Apart from the dark, smoky noir theme, there's a lot of other good stuff on it, like the cacophony of percussion, as if Shire was swilling cutlery around in a bucket. Maybe he'd heard Jerry's Planet Of The Apes. A great score, though, having the LP, I'll put off getting it for a while. Damn!

Demetrius sounds like cause for celebration too, no?
