I thought not too long ago someone had mentioned that Jerry Goldsmith would be doing a concert sometime in the near future, perhaps this spring, somewhere is the U.S. Is this right or am I off my rocker? If so, does anyone have the details concerning this event?
I would love to catch him live.

I checked jerrygoldsmithonline, but they don't have any info about a concert.Found two other cool bits though:
1. Soundtrack Magazine have posted some news on Prometheus and their plans for a major Goldsmith soundtrack CD to be released sometime in 2002. Watch this space!
2. Silva Screen Records are to re-issue the Jerry Goldsmith Philharmonia Concert CD featuring highlights from the March 1987 concert at the Barbican. The new disc titled Goldsmith Conducts Goldsmith will feature a newly mastered source compatible with HDCD and Dolby Surround with emphasis on superior bass. The new disc will feature a comprehensive booklet and cool new artwork plus a bonus track from the original score to Legend. The disc is scheduled for release in February.
As Sean would say: Huzzah!

I've checked into this at Ticketmaster before but it's really unclear how to select tickets. For one thing the venue in Nashville allows for a variety of stage arrangements and I can't find what the Goldsmith concert will be. I can only guess that it will be endstage seating. But the tickets are costly and I want to be sure of what I'm paying for. The price spead for tickets is $24-$337! That could keep me away from this one.

Agreed. I checked it out and thought this, too. It might be good to just call the theatre and try to talk to a human being. I would like to be pretty close anyway. Also, for those of you who've been to his concerts and spoken of him signing albums, is this a difficult thing to get accomplished. How does one go about doing this? I love Jerry and all, but it's not as if you are trying to get Britney to autograph an album. I imagine it might be somewhat easier to get this done, although having heard some of the comments people have said he's made about fanatics...
It would just be a nice little thing to take home if he embraces that sort of thing. I don't know. I've never seen him live. That in itself will be quite enough for me!

Huzzah indeed Marian!'Buzz' is that the new Goldsmith will be THE SWARM, at least the obvious hints point to this....but I am a bit worried that the whole thing will fit on one disc. Pardon my fanboy griping, but this score is a fave, and is balls-to-the-wall 80+ mins. worth of classic Jerrald.
So please, give me license to gripe just this one time will ya!

Isn't another CD featuring Jerry's concert works due in early 2002 as well?

The Swarm would be great! I hope they keep the cheesy LP notes where Jerry says how great the film is! haha! That end title is a blast...but isn't there a 2 cd bootleg? (maybe I am thinking of another Goldsmith score tho). I hope they release the whole thing.
Why wouldn't FSM be releasing this tho? They did previous Warner Bros films, like Towering Inferno. hmmm.

I'm curious as to why the LSO would fly all the way over to America and only appear in Nashville and Burmingham for only two concerts? Anyone know if they plan to go with Goldsmith to any eastern, northern, or western areas of America?NP Police Story

Boba, there IS a 2cd boot of the Swarm, and the last thing I EVER want to do is promote a boot over the real deal...but it runs 85mins. and minus alternates and who knows what all, it fits in at 78mins. What are the odds we will get a 78min. Prometheus?Dunno, but I hope they're good odds!
Best,

Also, for those of you who've been to his concerts and spoken of him signing albums, is this a difficult thing to get accomplished. How does one go about doing this? Some of us had a wonderful experience meeting, talking & signing with Mr. G post-concert(s). Go to the "search" option, type in "Detroit" and see for yourself. Here's a good one, for starters:
