I just saw a rerun of Robocop the otherday. Not a bad movie. Infact it was a little better then expected. Of course it was the edited tv version. Oh, you are gonna get a kick out of this:
The scene where the 2 guys are in the bathroom insulting the boss and then one guy looks nervous and leaves and the other guy turns and sees the boss. The boss let's him know he heard them and starts talking about how he used to do the same about his boss back in the day. He starts talking real seriously... "used to say things like he was incompetant a loser (And he sayd this really really seriously) and one time i even called him a AIRhead..."
    Don't you just hate sensors.

Surprisingly good score a must add. The second Basil P. score i have ever heard.

Yeah I do hate censored movies. I always prefer for them not to use foul language in the first place. So when he says, Airhead, he sounds more like he means it.

I understand the need for censoring, however I don't understand the need to show versions which have been modified to fit 4:3 screens.

Oh well... Hopefully if/when HDTV 16:9 takes over, pan and scan will go away.

No. Well, Pan&Scan for 1.85:1 movies will go away, but they'll still mess with 2.35:1.

On New Years Day, UK's Channel 4 showed Dario Argento's Suspiria - in its full 2.35:1 ratio. I don't know if it was the full version, or the 18-certificate video version which is cut.

IIRC, the only other film they've shown in full 'Scope is 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Yes, luckily they do this at least sometimes. Yesterday I caught Conspiracy Theory in the original aspect ratio.

NP: The Settlers (Amiga game music)
