Hey guys, I just got the new Disney 10th Anniversary Expanded Beauty and the Beast, and the new song, Human Again, isn't the only expanded part of it!Yes, there are three demos included (Be Our Guest and Beauty and the Beast, as voiced by the late Howard Ashman; an early score rendition of the Death of the Beast). However, the score has also been expanded. There are no new additional tracks, but the original score tracks now have previous material on them. "West Wing" now has the scene where Belle is chased by wolves and saved by the Beast. "Transformation" has new material as well, mostly in padding where the scene was edited after the initial score recording for the CD (I suspect). Granted, it would have been nice to have the music from Maurice's scene in the Beast's castle, and from the capture of Belle and Maurice, but this is a good show of faith from the normally stingy and unrelenting Disney company (classic film score re-releases not withstanding).
Enjoy!

I got it too as a Christmas present and I couldn't be more thrilled. As a Disney animation fan first, but even more to the point is that it is one of my favorite Disney films! It was refreshing to have such a nice booklet insert too, which makes up for the complete lack of one in the original release. Highly recommended from this one too!--Galina

Now, if only the folks at Disney Records would finally do it what we true Disney enthusiasts have been waiting for - a high-class RE-RECORDING of the SNOW WHITE complete score !!! Just why couldn't they have done it for this Disney Centennial ? - I humbly say that BEAUTY AND THE BEAST could have waited yet another 40 years

...who just loved the newly recorded music for Kenneth Feld's "Disney on Ice: SNOW WHITE" production a couple of years ago...and who couldn't understand why Disney Records didn't release such a reworked score gem as a commercial album ?posted 01-03-2002 03:51 PM PT (US)

Snow White was re-released in conjunction with the release of the DVD. In fact, it's basically the same release that was originally put out in 1993, with an additional 7 seconds of material added to the finale. All in all, this CD represents every available source of material on the score and songs from this classic, and world's first feature animated film and soundtrack release.

Yes, Maestro Sartori
- BUT I was talking about a RE-RECORDING
In fact those magical seven seconds were already included on the 1997 re-release of the CD soundtrack. Although I myself am always defending this SNOW WHITE score's place in movie music history, it still bugs me that there are cues missing from these otherwise-almost-complete three official CD releases of the score. Because these cues may never be available on their actual, original format, I've always thought it bizarre that Disney Records have not even considered about releasing a RE-RECORDING of the COMPLETE Snow White score, because they DID release a RE-RECORDING of the CINDERELLA score parts in 1995. Plus, SNOW WHITE's music would REALLY sound amazing with a little reworking from today's recording wizards as well as the talented arrangers - AND, the complete score would indeed become a definite collector's item if some of the 25 planned songs for the film were finally released and "Some Day My Prince Will Come" restored to its original purpose...
Anyway, if Disney Records won't do this project,
then I WILL when I have enough money and power to convince those *idiot-executives* who nowadays run Disney Records.
