    My Brother's Keeper (John Ottman).

It had been in my car since I picked it up earlier in the day, and I brought it in tonight after midnight - so that counts, technically.

    Shrek- Powell and Gregosn-Williams
Wanted this for ages. Great fun all around, especially the Merry Men tune

    A Beautiful Mind- Horner
Thought this would be terrible. Considering all the negative feedback, I was impressed. Ok, so bits remind me of this score and that, but this is still lovely music.

    eXistenZ - Shore
Soon my Shore collection will be complete. Muahahahahaha. (Great score btw)

    Aliens - Horner
Got this after seeing the DVD. What a great film all-round. Score included.

    Alien 3 - Goldenthal
Saw this DVD too. The finale's effectiveness is 90% thanks to Goldenthal. Moments of genius.

    The Crow: Salvation - Beltrami
The Crow score continue to surprise me. After falling head-over-heels in love with the first 2 last year, I thought might as well get this one. Amazing stuff. The first track drips with emotion, as do various others. Is all Beltrami's work this good?

    Jesus of Nazareth - Jarre
Finally!!!!!! Woohoo!!! Great stuff. I had forgotten a few of the grea themes. Can't wait for my Dad's birthday so we'll get him the DVD

That's all for now. I will now retire from existence coz I have finals coming up on the 21st.

Picked up ALL THE PRETTY HORSES and BAND OF BROTHERS today at a local used shop. Saw a copy of Shore's LORD OF THE RINGS also!!! ( I already have it) Don't know what is wrong with people. Why would you give that one up????

Anyway, I had been wanting to get HORSES and BROTHERS for some time now. Glad I picked them up. Good acquisitions and both for the cost of one in a normal store.

Today we all got our Christmas presents in Spain. My darling wife had warned me for weeks that I wasn't going to get any soundtracks, because I needed socks and boxers and ties etc. So I had five little packages beside my slipper today. In each sock packet/ boxer packet/ tie packet etc she'd put a CD! So now I've got-

THE MEPHISTO WALTZ/ THE OTHER (Jerry Goldsmith)

AMAZING STORIES (John Williams/ Georges Delerue)

THE DEVIL RIDES OUT (James Bernard)

THE CURSE OF THE MUMMY'S TOMB (Carlo Martelli)

    THE LOST CONTINENT (Gerard Schurmann)

    Good girl, my wife!

I don't know... I got the one performed by the Koninklijke Militaire Kapel, conducted by Pierre Kuijpers. Except for the poor recording, the performence is fine and the music is very good. A good musical description of some Characters and Scenes from the book.
I also placed an order for this ominous full orchestra version, but I'm not sure if this thing really does exist (thoug Amazon processed the order, but I don't know if that means much).
By now I can warmly recommend the existing version. Next week I should get another recording for wind, hope this one sounds better...
