It's about time!
"DreamWorks has just officially announced the DVD release of Steven Spielberg's A.I. Artificial Intelligence for March 5th. Artificial Intelligence was brought to the screen, a rare look at the production design from the original conceptual drawings to the building of the sets, interviews with Steven Spielberg, Haley Joel Osment and Jude Law, behind-the-scenes featurettes on the design, lighting and costumes for the film, an in-depth look at the development and creation of the robots including a behind-the-scenes visit to Stan Winston Studios, a look at the creation of various special effects on the set with effects supervisor Michael Lantieri, interviews with Dennis Muren and Scott Farrar of Industrial Light & Magic special effects group about the seamless blending of animation and live action, a visit to Skywalker Sound with sound designer Gary Rydstrom, a conversation with composer John Williams about scoring the film and his collaboration with Steven Spielberg, storyboard sequences, production drawings, a photo gallery and theatrical trailers."

Yes, dgoldwas, that does count in some way, but I was hoping to see another featurette like the one in the SW:TPM DVD. To see the orchestra and Barbara Bonney play the music with Williams conducting and Spielberg in the "fish tank"....wow.
How cool.
The conversation has been on several DVDs already. That's still awesome, but I wish they showed Williams conducting and stuff while he's talking ... or both. Who knows? Maybe they will and it just wasn't mentioned.
Regardless, like I said, I'm excited about it and can't wait. I thought A.I. was one of the deepest movies I've ever seen. Sadly, it wasn't very much appreciated by most; but I thought it was a great film....a little longer than expected...but great.

I see that A.I. has been re-released theatrically in New York & Los Angeles. Wonder if the Twin Towers have been digitally excised...

From all that I've read, the Twin Towers still exist in every print of A.I. and will also still exist in the DVD version as well. Someone came to their senses and realized how irrational it is to eliminate all evidence that the Twin Towers ever existed.

I'm looking forward to AI on dvd. I would be nice if they could have put an isolated score on the disc. But that would have cut intothe audio-dvd sales!I glad they aren't taking the WTC towers out. Maybe in some future they were built back. Who kows?
