So after listening to 7 CD's of Elliot Goldenthal's work in sequence (multi disc player) and totally pumped up on adrenaline and all those natural drugs your body can produce, I strongly feel that YES! YES! YES!
Elliot Goldenthal should have a live concert of his own!!! I know he doesn't conduct himself ow my g*d, but what a kick and pleasure it would be to here some pivotal moments of SPHERE, ALIEN3, IN DREAMS, FF:TSW wrapped up in concert suites.I'd think he'd blow me!
Even more than a concert of John Barry, Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams or Ennio Morricone. An evening of pure and unadulterated adrenaline from Elliot Goldenthal.
But where and with what orchestra?

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra!!Sure, I'm biased... but I think the CSO really would be great for Goldenthal's music.

The LSO performed Final Fantasy. The recording is fantastic. No need to think about other orchestras.quote:

I agree with James, make it Chicago! I'm right near Symphony Center, so it would be just a short jaunt on over to hear Goldenthal's music in all its splendour! I think his music would work great in the concert hall. He is a film composer who I like to introduce to my friends who lean more toward concert classical than film music. Goldenthal is a great crossover artist. His style works wonders for film, but is also cutting edge in terms of modern orchestral trends.
Bring on the show!

uhh.......
anyhoo,
Goldenthal would be GREAT to hear in concert.
so far the best one can do is to nab his theater pieces, his ballet Othello, and Fire Water Paper.I would really just LOVE to hear Titus in concert.

Hiya Foobs
...still partying hard
...be careful how you use the word 'blow'
Of course it should be the LSO! And as we all know, LONDON is the centre of the Universe so it makes sense to perform such a concert there....and, of course, I only live 120 miles away so it makes obvious sense

A Goldenthal concert would be awesome. I say he should record an album of his "greatest hits" with the LSO and then do a concert in Chicago. That way, everyone will be happy...including me, since I can't go to London and see it, nor live in Chicago so a recording will have to suffice.NP: Dick Tracy; Elman

Well since he lives in NYC it would stand to reason that NYC would be a good place (at some point anyway).Awfully expensive proposition, though. One evening concert can set you back over 50K.

Sorry Timmer.....I have to be careful with my words.
Hey, how is everybody doing so far?
Still JG lingering.I received a double CD recording of the concert. Good soundquality. My pictures where used for the covers so the guy gave me a free copy, full color, etc.... FANTASTIC.
But the fact remains... I WANT A GOLDENTHAL CONCERT! Why not here in Holland? *grin*
