    This question goes out to the musical fans in our little click. I have a friend of mine at my church who helped us put together a GREAT production of "Godspell". Not only did he do a great job with that, but he was also our choir leader for ALL choirs. He always put a little "musical" flair in the songs he had us sing (but kept them spiritual). Sometimes he would take songs from shows that pertained to the sermon, or a youth group event that we participated in. For example, during our 30 hour famine (which helped raise over $3,000 for world hunger) we sang "In The Beginning" from the show 'Children of Eden' which fit the service perfectally because it talks about how we (the children) hold the future in our hands and we can 'choose to drop the knife' and 'our hearts can choose to stop the hating'.

    Now that the little background story is out of the way, now the sad news. He is leaving the congregation, and all of the choirs that he led are dedicating a special song to say 'goodbye' to him. The only group that isn't doing something special, is my group...the cast of "Godspell". Now while it seems logical to just re-perform a song from the show, there just isn't a song in there that accurately describes our feelings (i.e says goodbye). Now what I am asking for your help, is if anyone out there knows of a song that if preferably from a musical, and preferably sung by a group of people (not just one or two but if it is a REALLY good song, then we'll all just sing the same note...), to please let me know your ideas!

    ANY ideas would be appreciated. I just can't think of any!!!!!

    Thanks gang.

    - John

    Here's an offbeat selection: "Fill The World With Love" from the film musical, Goodbye, Mr. Chips:

    In the morning of my life
    I will look to the sunrise,
    At a moment in my life when the world is new;
    And the question I shall ask
    Only I can answer:
    Am I brave and strong and true?
    Can I fill the world with love my whole life through?

    In the evening of my life
    I will look to the sunset,
    At the moment in my life when the night is due;
    And the question I shall ask
    Only God can answer:
    Was I brave and strong and true?
    Did I fill the world with love my whole life through?

    Did I fill the world with love?
    Did I fill the world with love?
    Did I fill the world with love my whole life through?

    Perfpitch, that's clique.

    Auld Lang Syne will have them weeping. The more it's sung in the manner of a Welsh choir, the better.
