I'm red-faced with anger at my own stupity! Please help!

Apparently in modern parlance it's called "re-installing" (oh, I obviously know al about it now!), well, ever since I had Windows re-installed the other day (hey, no putty!) I've had a few problems. I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me if they might be related, are mere coincidence, or whatever...

On this Board, I can't tell what are new messages anymore. All the file symbols that appear on the left are always yellow. And there are no file symbols at all on the main page.

At the FSM Board, all messages (except the most recent) have "No Replies", and the original messages can't even be accessed.

The clock on the screen is twelve hours out.

    Thanks!

Hmmm, Sounds a bit strange. Are you running Windows 95? It may just be that you have an older version of Internet Explorer re-installed with your Windows and you just need to upgrade it to a higher version. I'm not an expert and I'm sure there will be a lot more computer literate people here who will be able to help you Graham. I'm sure someone told me once that its not healthy to re-install windows over itself (or was it the other way around..I'm a great help aren't I?)
These days, if I have a mega-crash and I dont know what's causing it, I back up all my files, wipe my hard drive and start again from scratch. Luckily I learnt how to do this by watching a couple of friends doing it to their comp.
Sorry I cant be of more help to you Graham. Good Luck! Gae NP Hollywood War Movies

You have to activate cookies, and perhaps JavaScript as well.

Do what Marian suggested and turn cookies on.

The issue at the FSM board is a problem at FSM and not a problem with your computer.

You can adjust your clock by going into "Date/Time" on your "Settings" menu.

As to your other troubles, you may have to go into the "Internet Options" on the "Settings" menu to make the computer compatible with this (and other) websites.
I'd suggest calling Microsoft's toll-free number; the tech on the other end can guide you throgh it.

Afterward, it may help to re-register at this and any other site with which you're you're having trouble.

I, personally, have had nothing but trouble with AOL's 7.0 software. It's rendered all the websites I use useless, and I had to go back to the 6.0. The CD-R of the 7.0 AOL sent me may be corrupted; when the new copy arrives, maybe the software will work.

Or simply by double-clicking on the clock.

Thanks all! I've got my yellow bombillas back, and I didn't even have to get out Number 2 screwdriver!
