    Greetings

As some of you may have noticed, a new member joined at the beginning of this month who goes by the name of Bond1965. (Welcome, by the way!)

No, I did not pull a dex on all of you. We're different people, I assure you. But you may or may not have noticed that he also signs his name, appropriately enough, "James."

I have no problem with multiple people under one name. God knows we have plenty of Tims and Aarons running around. But to lessen confusion (or, inadvertantly, add to it) I just thought I'd let you all in on my real name.

Kirk. What a pay-off, huh? I shall henceforth sign my posts with the name "Kirk," though I will retain my posting identity because I don't want to lose my Elf status or abandon my number of postings.

If you have trouble with it, just remember... that's James Kirk, as in Captain.

With that, hello and good-night. James (Mr. Bond1965), once again welcome to the family, and I wish you a long and fruitful stay at MovieMusic.com.

So what's the big deal ?
There are at least three Kenneth Sundbergs in Finland, (and by the way, my real first name is Ralf - Kenneth comes only as the second) - and yet, if one of these other Kenneths would start posting here, I wouldn't change anything on my identity - because I know I'm the only AUTHENTIC Ken S.

Well Ken, I suppose the big deal is that Kirk has been a part of moviemusic.com since before it was moviemusic.com. Quite a few of us, including myself, Kirk, Justin, Brian (Crono), Kevin Jung, Olivarez, and several others (I know I'm failing to mention a lot of people) used to post w/ Peter Kelly when he webmastered movietunes.com.

Kirk has always *always* always been known to us as James. I've had the pleasure of calling him my friend for quite a long time. Having developed a solid friendship with him and through that, getting to know him quite a bit, I was even more touched when he revealed to me his real name. For some people (on the internet), creating an alternate name by which to operate is a safety mechanism. When this is the case, there's a lot to be said when one finally becomes comfortable enough to drop that guard. For that, I applaud Kirk... and to everyone else, consider it a huge compliment... 'cause it is.

But what about us who don't hide behind false identities

I know I should shut up because I'm making myself seem as an idiot - but it's only because I admire honesty and courage to be oneself, even in the internet.

    Sincerely,
    KEN

That's sweet, and honest too. God knows there are a ton of names, like the name "Mark", one belonging to someone who is OBVIOUSLY the alternate identity of a certain person. Fishy stuff, huh? The thing is, we already have Mark Olivarez, who is very cool and yet there is another "Mark" (a tool), so sticking to one distinct name is smart and considerate! Good for you, Kirk.

Okay, you can call me Bruce, just don't confuse me with Bruce...

Or you can call me Ray, or you can call me Ray J., or you can call me Raymond J. Johnson, Jr...

Not if you called them stink blossoms.

Thanks for the laughs, everyone. I suppose, technically, you don't have to call me anything. If you really, really want to call me Eddie, that's fine. (Just don't always count on me knowing what you're talking about.)

And James, I did this partly so that you wouldn't have to sign any other name.

Hi Big Bear or Emo or whatever you want to be called. I have not read here since just after the Sept 11 attacks for personal reasons. Today I am back and there is a lot of great news in the soundtrack world. Too bad you are thinking of me after so long, just get over it and decide if you want to be a boy or a girl.

    James - Kirk it is!
