Not that it comes as any surprise, but George S. Clinton has confirmed that he will indeed be scoring Austin Power 3 (AUSTIN POWERS: GOLDMEMBER).
http://www.georgesclinton.com/He is recording original trailer music tomorrow; dunno when the trailer will actually air, but since it's New Line, I wouldn't be surprised if we see this teaser on the LORD OF THE RINGS.

No, Dan, that's not surprising at all. Let's hope that a score release pops up within 12 months of the film this time.In other scoring news:
John Debney is reuniting with "Liar Liar" director Tom Shadyac on Kevin Costner's latest, "Dragonfly".
And in the "who saw that coming?" category, the Britney Spears movie "Crossroads" has a composer. You're probably thinking, "Who cares". Well, the composer's name rhymes with clever bones. I'll leave that for you to snack on. (I just saw this at the IMDB.)

Just heard that the posters, trailers, etc are being pulled for GOLDMEMBER, due to complaints from the Bond people, and the movie may have to be retitled!Anyone know more? This was on the news here....this may change much about the film, I would think at least.

I read that the Bond people sued them and won. They said the title was an obvious refernece to Bond (well, of course it is), and they would have had to license it if they wanted to use it. The wonders of extreme capitalism...

Nothing has been 'won' yet!The Bond people tried to sue for 'Shagged' but failed, they need to lighten up a bit

With regards to the whole Austin Powers/James Bond thing, I agree that the Bond people should lighten up. I don't think that titling AP3 (or AP2 for that matter) as a spoof on the Bond films is harmful to the 007 series, because IMHO, if anything, titling them in such a way that a referrence to a Bond film is obvious would respark some amount of interest in Bond again. It might not be much, but it's more business for MGM.
If I was them, I'd just shut my mouth.

If MGM is up for sale, and MGM owns the rights (?), and Warner (which owns New Line) buys MGM thus owning it... will Warner still sue Warner?
