It's not awful! But it's not the greatest cover ever done. It's OK.

The cover picture is good...it's the framing of the picture that sucks. What they should do is put "Original Motion Picture Score: Music by John Powell & Harry Gregson-Williams".

But it has other songs from the film, hense the title of the disc. As for the art, they should have used theinternational poster.

I think its funny that everyone one wants a Shrek score release and now they bitch over the art.

Guy's just be happy we are getting a release and to hell with the cover art.

    LOL! Great Brian!

But really I'd be happy if the cover was black with the word Shrek in Helvetica font.

There's no Smashmouth crap or contemporary rap or alternative songs on there. There's only 2 "songs" and neither of them are from some group. One is the Princess Sings, not really a song....more like entertaining dialog. The other is the song the Robin Hood guy sings. In their summary for upcoming cds, Varese is always putting their main focus of the cd on the song section. Remember From Hell? They were just boosting about Marilin Manson being on the cd...."Mason fans will be rushing out to see the film and get the soundtrack!" Then they barely mentioned the score and it was the second thing they mentioned. Oh well, that's the way Varese is.

Does anyone else think the cover to the Demolition Man score looks sorta counterfeit?

Like its been printed off on some guys bubble jet printer?

It has a crappy cover design too.

Yah Richard the Demolition Man cover is horrid, but this I just don't understand... Many of Varese's covers are good looking, and god knows Shrek is a movie capable of maintaining a decent one... Why they chose what they chose I'll never know.

I assume it's the same problem as with so many other score-after-song album-releases: The original movie poster art was already used for the song album, so they have to use something else for the score album.

Actually, it wasn't. I wish they would use the picture of Shrek and Donkey and the Princess running from the fire breathing dragon!

Varese's site seems to show a different, better-looking cover.

I think the cover art looks quite good.
This is a very soft and energetic score with some notable themes; I'm happy Varese is releasing it.

Not that I really care, but what about the "song" where Shrek and Donkey go to the village and open the information box thingie?? I do hope it has the part where Shrek sits down to eat in the evening, those are such pretty bells (???). Can we wait til Dec. 4th??

BMUSTANG, that's "Welcome to Duloc" on the CD. That song was so goofy.

I believe the score track is "Eating Alone".

I agree. "Eating Alone" is a nice piece of score music. The violin (or chello or...?) is particularly nice.
