    Received last month:-

    TENTACLES (Stelvio Cipriani)
SWEPT FROM THE SEA (John Barry)
    MIDNIGHT RUN (Danny Elfman)
    M BUTTERFLY (Howard Shore)
    CRITTERS (David Newman)
VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED (John Carpenter / Dave Davies)
    MIDWAY (John Williams)
CROCODILE DUNDEE IN LOS ANGELES (Basil Poledouris)
SHOWDOWN IN LITTLE TOKYO (David Michael Frank)
    TRAFFIC (Cliff Martinez)
    HANNIBAL (Hans Zimmer)
    EXTREME PREJUDICE (Jerry Goldsmith)
    THE CHALLENGE (Jerry Goldsmith)
    LOST IN SPACE (Bruce Broughton)
THE PARTY / THE GREAT RACE (Henry Mancini)
HATARI! / HIGH TIME (Henry Mancini)
    TIME AFTER TIME (Miklos Rozsa)
    NEEDFUL THINGS (Patrick Doyle)
    VIRUS (Joel McNeely)
    THE CLIENT (Howard Shore)
AN AMERICAN TAIL 2: FIEVEL GOES WEST (James Horner)
THE NIGHT STALKER AND OTHER CLASSIC THRILLERS (Robert Cobert)
    THE ENGLISH PATIENT (Gabriel Yared)
THE THREE WORLDS OF GULLIVER (cond Mcneely) (Bernard Herrmann)
CRUEL INTENTIONS rejected; Suites And Themes (John Ottman)
    GLORY (James Horner)
    HENRY V (Patrick Doyle)
    RUSH HOUR 2 (Lalo Schifrin)
THE TAILOR OF PANAMA (Shaun Davey)

CD of the Month is...yet another Jerry Goldsmith score: FIRST BLOOD. As much as I love EXTREME PREJUDICE (the 9½ minute "Plot" cue is just incredible) and was thrilled to finally get the Intrada disc, FIRST BLOOD was even better, possibly because I'm not familiar with it at all, having seen the film just once, on video, maybe 12 years ago. Cracking stuff. It's the Intrada release, but IIRC that's exactly the same as Varese's reissue.

    MP: MIDNIGHT RUN (Danny Elfman)

    In time for Halloween:

The Nightmare Before Christmas - Elfman.
I am amazed. What a brilliant musical! The Oogie Boogie's song is superlative. I also love the little kid's voice in the beginning of "Jack's Obsession" (I hope he hasn't died!)

    New old stuff:
    CDs
    "Final Conflict" (sounds fabulous)
"Heartbeeps" (on order - can't wait)

plus I found these great old LPs cheap:
"Who Is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe?" (Mancini - sounds like an actual soundtrack, not just pop arrangements of music in the film)
"F.I.S.T." (Bill Conti symphonic score, not on CD as far as I know)
"The Dove" (Barry - typical, but nice. And not on CD either, as far as I know)

only really NEW title is "Harry Potter"

I told ya! My only concern is that the missing half (which I haven't heard, since I have yet to watch the film) is just as good (or perhaps better) than what is on the CD.
