I'm a big fan of Mark Mancina's Speed score. I love the movie too. I really disliked Speed 2 but I was wondering if Mancina used the same theme from Speed 1 for Speed 2?It was a fast DaDa da DaDada. Or something like that lol.
I can't bring myself to see Speed 2 again to find out.
But then again, maybe I'll like the second one better if I watch it again.

He created a new main theme, but he did reference the original SPEED theme a couple of times throughout the score.Dan

His Speed 2 score is far superior to his original.

The way that he incorporates the 20th Century Fox fanfare into the score for Speed 2 is excellent...the end of the opening credits cue, there is a brief statement from the Speed theme. The piece at the end of the film is a remix of his original theme, as well.
