Throughout the entire day the theme from The Duke has been running through my head, over and over. The recent direct-to-video release (from the producers of the classic childern's films Air Bud and MVP: Most Valuable Primate) about a dog in England who becomes royalty after his owner, the Duke (played by even-his-fingernails-are-way-too-talented-to-be-in-this-movie John Neville) dies and leaves everything to the dog instead of his greedy nephew. James Doohan got top billing for playing a supporting role as a butler. I've only seen the movie once, and I've only seen about half of it. And that was months ago... I even had to check the IMDb to remember the composer's (Brahm Wenger's) last name.Yet the theme is looping through my brain, over and over and over. What does this mean? Whatever it is, it's a nice break. For three days prior to this I had that galloping music from Monty Python and the Holy Grail playing over and over in my head. Similar experiences, anyone?

I usually have this after getting up in the morning (well, around noon, usually ). Often the score in question is something I haven't played for weeks, and sometimes I can't get it out of my head for days.NP: Carlito's Way (Patrick Doyle)

I have the same problem with themes in my head. The other day Papillon was going on and on in my head during one of my annoying classes. I didn't pay much attention to the class...

Oh yes, a most terrible affliction. I have music going on in my head constantly, twenty-four hours a day it sometimes seems. At the moment it's Goldsmith's The Shadow (and I haven't even got that, so it's just the bit I remember over and over again on an endless loop.) I pace my steps to it, I grind my teeth to it in ryhthm, and it won't go away until something else comes up to take its place for the next two months. And very often these things are pieces which aren't even great!I've often wondered if this is a clinically recognized problem.

I have this all the time. The 3 most common ones I can remember are:The Godfather - Love Theme Antz - The Big Shoe Gladiator - The vocal part at the end of 'The Battle' which sound like Morricone's 'Kerim' theme.

Wistiti, I often have Kilar's Vampire Hunters from DRACULA going around in my head when I need something important doing. While walking up massive hills, John Barry's ZULU theme has always been a ball and chain around my ankle...both tracks seem to seep into my head unbiden
