Has anyone ever made their own mix of scores from MV? I'm sure I've seen some track listings here from people who have. I'd really appreciate it if someone could post some tracks to use. lol, I bet I'll get a bunch of smart ass remarks for this. THankz!NP: American Outlaws - Trevor Rabin ***/*****

Actually, I made suites of music from MV, it turned out pretty good. Each year I make a CD full of suites from what MV did over the year. Those turn out pretty good too!Clayton

Well, I did 3 compilations CDs of Media Venture in the past. However, the last one is not really from MV, but it's from Rabin and Mancina. It always depend of how you want your suite to sound. Action? Slow? Drama? etc...Armageddon is a good score to work with for a suite for example. Backdraft is another. It also depend of how you want to build your suite. Try to tell the film story in the suite, or just make it sound nice. You can also mix cues from differents scores together. That's challenging and very fun to do. ;-) That's how my first 2 Compilations were done. ;-)However, always try to keep the same "style" when you do a suite. For example, mixing a cue from Horner and Zimmer will sound a little bit wierd, same thing if you use a cue from Debney and mix it with a cue from Goldsmith. ;-)
Anyway, good luck with your mix. I hope we will be able to hear it at the end (Even if Andre will complain about it :-) ).

I do André, but that doesn't mean I don't have a sense of humour.

I don't really care about Media Ventures as a group. There's really only a handful of wonderful scores they have done(Antz,Shrek,Chicken Run, Some of Hans' works), but most of the time you get crap (ie Enemy of the State, Con Air, Replacement Killers....)

Spicy Ramen, what exactly was your point with that post? My post was directed at those who had made such mixes and to ask their advice; I guess my last comment came true in my original post.

At the risk of making an inflammatory comment...I think some of us find each new Media Ventures score a mix disc of several previous ones...

Especially when you have Trevor Rabin in every one of those comp.
