A while back Lemons got me into reading the Dragonlance series. I am currently working on a soundtrack for Dragons of Autumn Twighlight using different cues from different scores. The name of the cues coincide with the name of the chapters.Since I just finished re-reading The Hobbit, I thought it would be fun to do the same thing with that book as well(since we are getting an original already for the Ring saga).
Thus using the title chapters, I'd like to get some ideas from you guys what music to choose. I got some ideas already, but I'd like this to be a moviemusic thingie, so here are the chapters.
An Unexpected Party
Roast Mutton
A Short Rest
Over Hill and Under Hill
Riddles in the Dark
Out of the Frying-Pan into the Fire
Queer Lodgings
Flies and Spiders
Barrels OUt of Bond
A Warm Welcome
On the Doorstep
Inside Infromation
Not at Home
Fire and Water
The gathering of the Clouds
A Thief in the Night
The Clouds Burst
The Return Journey
The Last Stage
And no, I don't have too much time on my hands.Scott

Dragonlance is the pimp **** of books! Don't destroy it with music that was not ment for it!!! I've been into those books since I was in 6th grade! I love them!Yes, I hope to bring them to the screen, "Dragons of Autumn Twilight" / "Dragons of Winter Night" and "Dragons of Spring Dawning."
( and I hope, and with the writer's help)--Brian

Yeah, but Dragons of Summer Flame was a disappointing closure to the series....

It is something I am doing for me personal. Besides, the books are so good, you can't destroy them by what I am doing...continuing on with this clue...hmmmm...that would fit in nicely...hehehehe.

It is the perfect way to start out the fith age campaign (if you got that far into it.). The age of mortals had to be started somehow, and Weis and Hickman did the way it should have been done. Don't say things that you know nothing about my friend, because I know many people who would be very upset if they ever saw what you wrote here. Dragons of Summer Flame is considered one of the greatest Dragonlance novels ever written.

Dragons of Summer Flame reads like the story you write when you can't stand the thought of "spin-off" novels, so the solution is to nuke everyone....It's closure...it's just not very satisfying closure.

What do you mean not very good closure, did you even read Tales from the Fith Age or the begining of the War of Souls That book created the perfect setting for them. You have no idea what you are talking about.

When once again reading The Hobbit this summer, I though about how it could be translated into music, sound-wise and structure-wise. I got some pretty clear ideas, but so far, no way to realize them. Perhaps, one day...

Scott,
I write fantasy and always try and burn a CD mix (with track titles and all) for my story...helps me slip into the world. Anyway, I'm at work and can't think of any specific cues, but scores I pull from constantly are:Dragonheart (To the stars, and that funny sounding piece for the monk)
Michael Collins
The Thirteenth Warrior
Willow (of course)
Gladiator (both discs)
More music from Braveheart
First Knight
Three Musketeers (Kamen)
There's so many more...can't think of them just now...sorry.posted 10-18-2001 12:23 PM PT (US)
