Okay, there's this album, presumably the proper soundtrak release. So what's up with this album? Someone may have already posted something about this, & if so, sorry but I've not been around quite so much as usual at the moment, & couldn't find anything in the search thing. So, what's the deal here?

Well it appears that one is a soundtrack and the other is a score?

November 13th is the Reprise release of the Howard Shore music for the new film which opens over amonth later. The other I think is a misnomer that hasn't been corrected by Amazon or it's the stateside past price for the Rosenman score which goes for $30 import according to the same website.

    Clear as mud?

I had heard tales of a "Music inspired by the LOTR" CD coming out. You know, groups who, over the years, have had songs that allude to the books.

More confusingly (now maybe I should have started another topic about this, since it could be something pretty majorish), I now find this album.

Limited Edition? At about twice the price? Hmmmm, wonder whatso special about it? Anyone any idea?

It's nothing to do with this album, that's just got confused about being a soundtrack, is it? Curious, that it does have the same release date...

    Hey, track listings. Neat.

So, if this and this are Shore's work, then who's reissuing the Rosenman score? And who the heck is the Elbereth Orchestra?

    Track listings? Cool!

And looking at the listings, many titles show that Shore has indeed read the novel (if he came up with the titles). I wonder what "The Prophecy" refers to.

Regarding the Enya songs... Theme for Aragorn and Arwen - during the council of Elrond? Does that mean we'll really get a scene between the two underscored with an unrelated song? And who the hell is "Aniron"? And what's "May it Be"???

And they confirm another thing: Since the titles seem to be in chronological order, we'll get to see Gandalf's problems at Orthanc "live". Hm, I always liked how you don't know where he is during the first part of the story, and his revelations at Rivendell. Oh well, I'm sure it'll work very well that way, too.
