Do the folks at this site appreciate animated series music (especially USA-generated series from the 60's to the 90's) more than the folks at the Filmscore Monthly site? I try to generate conversation and information-sharing there but not very many seem interested. Is it the same here?

Kimiakane, welcome to the board. I think you'll find the discussion you're looking for! Can you be more specific about the shows you would like to talk about?

I think most people here love the good animated scores as much as the live action ones! I know I enjoy Zimmer's The Prince of Egypt and The Lion King as much as any of his other stuff.

Same goes for Horner, The Land Before Time, Once Upon a Forest, Fievel Goes West and Balto are some of my favorites from him.

    NP: Alexander Nevsky (Prokofiev)

Thanks, Jeron. Does anyone know about the three gentlemen who worked for music director Hoyt Curtin of Hanna-Barbera studios in the 60's to the 70's? The three composers were Ted Nichols, Bill Getty, and Richard Olson. They composed a large library of cues and themes which were used from the mid-60's to the 90's in almost every Hanna-Barbera action cartoon ever produced. This music is so memorable as most of us grew up with it and to many of us it defines what action music should be. This music was used initially in shows such as JONNY QUEST, SPACE GHOST & DINO BOY, BIRDMAN & THE GALAXY TRIO, SHAZZAN, SAMSON & GOLIATH (YOUNG SAMSON), THE HERCULOIDS, THE FANTASTIC FOUR, MOBY DICK & MIGHTY MIGHTOR, FRANKENSTEIN JR. & THE IMPOSSIBLES, THE ADVENTURES OF GULLIVER, THE BANANA SPLITS ADVENTURE HOUR (DANGER ISLAND, THE 3 MUSKETEERS, ARABIAN KNIGHTS, and MICRO VENTURE), and all the incarnations of THE SUPER-FRIENDS. This music was also used during chase scenes in many of the funny cartoons too.
So, does anyone know more about these three composers...or is their unapplauded talent to be forever lost in obscurity?
