Now keep in mind that this is the evolution of music the evolution of living things is completly impossible (but more on that later)anyway back to film music.

Have you noticed that G-Williams and Powell music seems to be moving into their own style? For instance their original masterpiece Antz was filled with Hans Zimmer stlyes motifs etc. Chicken Run seemed like it had less however I am not sure about this. Shrek now that I have the album the single score track aside from being their most orchestral and most unreleased score (excuse me if I start kicking the wall) is at least in that one track free many of Zimmer's motifs and other things as heard in Antz. Any observations on this topic?

Np: Shrek Album c'mon just 1 score release just one. PLEASEE!!

Well actually Shrek picks up some of Trevor Rabins ideas, haven't you heard Deep Blue Sea?

I've heard you say this several times, Tim... and while it's your own personal opinion, I just don't *for the life of me* see your comparison. Sorry.

Has anyone else heard HGW's The Borrowers soundtrack? Doesn't seem to get mentioned at all, but it's quite a fun listen, and not entirely dissimilar to Chicken Run.

I absolutely love the Chicken Run score (movie too!), but Shrek sounded a bit to MV-ish for me, at least in the film.

I agree with TimT, the similarities are definitely there with Shrek and parts of Deep Blue Sea. That said, Shrek is the far better score.

So do I. Shrek has quite a bit of familiarity to Deep Blue Sea. Nothing wrong with that but yes it is present! Geez, lighten off of Tim Jeron

The first portion of Shrek's theme shares at most only 7 notes with Rabin's DBS. They use that only as a starting point. I for once are starting to get really pissed-off at any comparison for the MV crew to Rabin. Okay Rabin got his score out first but how would we even know if Rabin didn't just came by MV one day and heard the snippet of theme from the MV? I'm not saying that it's true but from what I've got from Rabin's interview and other from MV, I'd take the MV side than Rabin.

I'm not bearing down on Tim, Justin. LOL, lighten off of me. I just don't hear the similarity... and you know how familiar I am with the score. ::shrugs::
