    Hi folks,

I have some strange suites and themes gathered from various sources. And I'd like some opinions about them. Opinions will mostly be used to make a decision about purchasing/seeking an extended/complete/original version of these excerpts.

    1) A rarely-heard suite from a popular score: http://www.iespana.es/wistiti/startrek.rm
Mainly, I'd like to know if you think this version is worth having the LP transfered on CD. I'm not sure. It's pretty cheasy. But the Klingon theme is so much more energetic than most versions, I'm really wondering about a transfer.

From the Chinese version of Pocahontas:

The cousin of a friend bough this when she was in Hong Kong. She made him a copy, and agreed to make me one. But it's only an audio-tape copy. I was wondering if you think this is worth searching for a CD version.

    The Spanish language single: http://www.iespana.es/wistiti/colores.rm
Well... I don't really need opinions about this. But I thought it would be interesting to hear. So I got the Colors of the Wind single by Vanessa Williams. This version was on it.

Another great Chandos album. Brand new rerecordings of some of the film scores of Sir Arthur Bliss.
I have the CD. But I'd like to know if you folks find this 1934 score to be as avant garde for its time as I do. It seems to me the orchestrations, the development, have inspired many film scores following it. Am I confused? Or on the right track?

    From Caesar and Cleopatra: http://www.iespana.es/wistiti/caesar.rm
Same thing as last item. Taken from the same Chandos disc. Wondering what you think about this cue.

    From the Brit soap:

I caught one or two of these episodes on ShowCase (Canadian cable channel). One thing that struck me was the music.
Murray Gold's score is nice dance music. Or so I find.
Does anyone know of a complete score-only version? Promo, bootleg, other? I'd really like to have more of this, but I can't find anything. And without the stupid dialog excerpts too!

    From Ben-Hur (Carl Davis) http://www.iespana.es/wistiti/benhur.rm
A few weeks ago I got Silva Screen's double disc compilation titled "Carl Davis: The Silents". It consists of various excerpts from Carl Davis-composed scores for newly restored versions of classic silent films. The music is great. And this is but one excerpts of the whole CD. But I'd like to have any comments or opinions about it. Especially if you have the soundtrack album, which I believe is also on Silva. I'm considering getting the complete score, but would again like to have comments before.

    Thanks!

LOL, it's a completely dated reinterpretation of Goldsmith's themes from ST:TMP... and as funny and cheesy as it is, I certainly wouldn't mind having it. It's fun! What I'd give to see Jerry's face while listening to this...

Haven't listened to the clip (I've got a CD playing right now). But there's some great music in the documentary on the Ben-Hur DVD that's NOT the Rozsa score, so my best guess is that it's the Carl Davis music for the silent film version. If it is, I'd certainly want to get it myself.

I'm just listening to that Ben-Hur clip, and I have to say that it sounds f***ing great. I should have picked it up long ago when I used to see the album in stores.
