Does any one know anything about this?

    Apparently it's some TV movie.

The soundtrack is coming out in october.

But the movie is nowhere to be found on the IMDB.

Appears to be a BBC documentary narrated by David Attenborough (relation to Richard Attenborough???).
Documentary is about oceans on the planet Earth.

    Can anyone confirm?

This is different from the IMAX film from about 6 years ago?

    Jeron,

Yeah, Blue Planet (the IMAX version) is a different movie.

The IMAX movie has a nice soundtrack, written by Mickey Erbe & Maribeth Solomon. It's doubled up with "The Dream Is Alive" IMAX film score.

    Let me answer your queries..

Blue Planet IS a BBC documentary that took five years to make, it started airing here in the U.K. last Wednesday, the result is staggeringly awesome!

The music by Fenton is good so far but there's still a lot more of this riveting series to go yet.

David IS brother of Richard, here in Britain David is probably more famous than Richard, he's rarely been gone from the tv screen in my lifetime and his name is synonimous with good ground breaking wildlife documentaries, David is also one of only a few people whose job I envy, the man's been to EVERY country our little blue sphere has to offer!

I must keep an eye open for this series, usually we get the British documentary series soon after they air in Britain. Along with Carl Sagan's Cosmos, that series about Earth's history by David Attenborough (forgot the name?) is one of my earliest and best memories of good documentaries.

In a sense, I envy you... we almost never get anything other than Made In North America.
Not that Made in North America is bad, but it would be nice to have more variety.
What little we do get from elsewhere is practically unwatchable.

Soundtrack is now available from HMV.com (for a crazy price: $24USD) or for more accessible pricings check out hmv.co.uk ($17USD) or amazon.co.uk ($16USD).

Hopefully, a domestic US/Canada version will soon appear at a lower price.

In the meantime, those looking for lower prices, can always get it from the Australians for about $12USD: http://www.hmv.com.au/cgi-bin/HMVAus.storefront/EN/product/796588?HMVSIN=796588&Affiliate=

Let's hope this is the same release as the UK version. There's something fishy when one store sells a CD for less than the competition.

The weirdos at CDNOW did it again.

They're now listing the album in their catalog.
    Blue Planet

Note the little thing at the bottom:
    Genre: POP

George Fenton does pop music! Wonder if there are any synth drums...

The French Folk have some audio clips of this.

Scroll down, and click on any track to hear 30 sec excerpt. (in that vertical green rectangle)

By the way, am I the only one obsessed with this album?

    Got it!

Sound is a bit cheap, but the music is amazing! 55 minutes of Fentonnian perfection.

    WOW!

there's little that Fenton has done lately that CAN'T be described as perfect.

BTW -- all you people who have Blue Planet need to get Dangerous Beauty.

The only thing that's fishy here is why the Australian dollar is so darn low! Seriously though, it is the UK version that's on sale here in Australia, and the exchange rate is the reason the price is relatively low.
