Jeron,Yeah, Blue Planet (the IMAX version) is a different movie.
The IMAX movie has a nice soundtrack, written by Mickey Erbe & Maribeth Solomon. It's doubled up with "The Dream Is Alive" IMAX film score.

Let me answer your queries..Blue Planet IS a BBC documentary that took five years to make, it started airing here in the U.K. last Wednesday, the result is staggeringly awesome!
The music by Fenton is good so far but there's still a lot more of this riveting series to go yet.
David IS brother of Richard, here in Britain David is probably more famous than Richard, he's rarely been gone from the tv screen in my lifetime and his name is synonimous with good ground breaking wildlife documentaries, David is also one of only a few people whose job I envy, the man's been to EVERY country our little blue sphere has to offer!

I must keep an eye open for this series, usually we get the British documentary series soon after they air in Britain. Along with Carl Sagan's Cosmos, that series about Earth's history by David Attenborough (forgot the name?) is one of my earliest and best memories of good documentaries.NP: Dmitri Shostakovich: Symphony #8 (Concertgebouw Orchestra, Bernard Haitink)

Not that Made in North America is bad, but it would be nice to have more variety.
What little we do get from elsewhere is practically unwatchable.posted 09-15-2001 11:54 AM PT (US)

Soundtrack is now available from HMV.com (for a crazy price: $24USD) or for more accessible pricings check out hmv.co.uk ($17USD) or amazon.co.uk ($16USD).Hopefully, a domestic US/Canada version will soon appear at a lower price.
In the meantime, those looking for lower prices, can always get it from the Australians for about $12USD: http://www.hmv.com.au/cgi-bin/HMVAus.storefront/EN/product/796588?HMVSIN=796588&Affiliate=
Let's hope this is the same release as the UK version. There's something fishy when one store sells a CD for less than the competition.

Scroll down, and click on any track to hear 30 sec excerpt. (in that vertical green rectangle)
By the way, am I the only one obsessed with this album?

Seriously though, it is the UK version that's on sale here in Australia, and the exchange rate is the reason the price is relatively low.
