I'm a saaaaaad Trekkie. If Enterprise doesn't suck, I'll eat my Spock ears.

I saw a TV trailer for Enterprise a couple of weeks ago. It looked pretty bad.

But I'll reserve judgement until I see a few episodes.

Mr. Thaxton has just e-mailed me expressing his optimism. For the record, I hope he's right. I really do. Really really really really. I mean, I have great confidence in Bakula.

These promos, however, have only increased my skepticism.

We'll find out soon enough ...

From someone who watched Trek from the 60's until today (not much of Voyager though - it sucked. Sorry Jeron! ), I have to say I'm "cautiously optimistic" about the new series. The teasers on the television really have my attention.

The only thing bad I've heard so far is the (IMO) stupid choice of a song instead of an orchestrated title sequence.

Now, the song in the teasers ("Wherever You May Go" by The Calling) would actually work for me. Not an older tune sung by an "opera" singer (from what I've read).

I will keep my mind open. If it sucks, we can all march to Paramount and string up Berman and Braga.

You are correct, Kevin. "Voyager" did indeed suck. It sucketh mightily.

To be fair, there were some good episodes and a few great ones. Was it worth the blight on the name of Trek?

    No.

Just my ::ahem:: humble opinion, folks.

    I *loved* Voyager.

Re: Enterprise... I'm cautiously optimistic as well. I guess we'll see in a couple weeks!

I have never liked the Original Star Trek. I don't like the first couple seasons of The Next Generation. I started watching Star Trek: DS9. I have liked Voyager.

Totally agreed about Voyager, Wedge. On a more positive note, the first DVDs for DS9 are supposed to come out next year. (Ok, those for TNG and VOY as well, but DS9 is the series I'd really like to have in it's entirety).

Marian: FANTASTIC!!! They'd better be season-length box-sets. I do NOT want to have to buy seven seasons of DS9 (my favorite series) two episodes at a time! >

I think they are reportedly going to be season box sets. Luckily.

BTW, did I mention that I saw the book you contributed to in London? I had already bought too many CDs to pick it up, but I'll definitely get it sooner or later.

I feel ya, Wedge. I'm still waiting on the second season of Stargate SG1. That kind of box set is great... 4-5 episodes per disc.

And I'm looking forward to the new series. (Though I'm definitely NOT looking forward to the title sequence.)

Yeah, "Strange New Worlds III" was in London. We actually saw it several places in Europe. It was very cool to walk into the local airport bookstore and be able fo find my name.

Thank you for not calling it "your book," by the way. I always have to correct people: "It's not MY book. I'm just IN it."

Of course, I have plans for the future ...

In the meantime, Marian, why not get the E-BOOK version? I didn't know it existed myself until I went to Amazon.com to look for feedback!
    SNW3 e-book

And I have NO IDEA what THIS is ...
    SNW3 something

Cool! I prefer reading a "real" book though, particularly if it's only marginally more expensive than the e-book. But I will get the book, at the very very latest next year in London (hoping that I can go to London again).
