Marian, I don't want to sound too proud here but I have THE 'BURBS soundtrack signed by Goldsmith himself (and almost twice!) - one of my TRUE Treasures!!!

Yeah? But what Colesterol's scores you don't like? Not "A VOLTA DOS QUE NÃO FORAM", which is a masterpiece, praised even by Donuts Elfmans when he studied with Colesterol in the Osasco Music University.

    Come on, be specific...

I reserve my right to not like any score by

Well... First of all I not exactly new in here, allthough it might seem to be so!I have been reading these boards for quite a while now and have been registered here with another name in the past... But I forgot the damn password and the username!OK...one annoying score that comes to mind in Chainreaction by Jerry. It just has this fastly written, uninspired, recycled feeling to it.

I happen to love Gremlins too!

Witness by Maurice Jarre is terrible.

The Star Wars Saga doesn't rate too highly in my book either. There's the ocassional good cue in them, but on the whole they annoy me.

Intersection by JNH and To Die For by Elfman are also quite annoying at times.

I can see where someone doesn't like Witness too much, but the cue entiteled Building the Barn is (IMHO) one of the most awe inspiring pieces in film music history.

No.... It would aggravate my condition

Another thing, I love Morricone's Bulworth (1st track), Lolita (all except for the sucky choral track). In fact I don't like most of Morricone's suspense, thriller and action stuff, just his melodic and sweeet passages. Did I mention that I LOVE the 1st track of Bulworth? More like it please

    NOW I GOT IT -
Alan Menken's "action" music is VERY annoying on ALL of his Disney scores. It's a bit odd, that the man who composes such good song melodies, simply can't do anything else on his "dramatic" music except BANG! CLASH! BRRROOMM! BANGG! CLASSSHHHH! BRRRROOOOOOOMCLASSHHBAM !!!

It seems that only in the middle of the night I come up with these sorts of things - I also remembered the time I saw COMA, I nearly laughed my head off when after almost an hour of silence Goldsmith finally unleashed his PIANO... PLIM PLAM PLUM PLAM PLIM PLUM... not very dramatic, in my opinion...

I have to toss my hat into the ring and add that I also find TITANIC annoying as well as anything written John Debney (and that includes SEAQUEST and CUTTHRAOT ISLAND). Also, I'm not a big fan of "comedy" scores, either "romantic" such as JN Howard's music for many painful Julia Roberts films or "wacky" comedies the type of which Robert Folk and Alan Silvestri end up scoring. The music just seems like so much fluff to me, so I guess I will add any scores in that genre to my list.

Hmmmmmm! Right off the top of my pointy little head, I'd have to say, it's a toss-up between "Videodrome" & "Modesty Blaise", the latter which I recently, unfortunately, purchased, to my everlasting regret.

(I MISTAKENLY POSTED THIS TWICE, 'CAUSE I THOUGHT IT DIDN'T MAKE IT ON THE BOARD.....I THEN CHECKED PAGE TWO.....DUH!

Oh! I've been reminded by another thread on this board about Morricone, of another score I HATE, and that had to be probably Morricone's WORST score ever...EXORCIST II. IMHO, it's a bunch of noise. Some people love it, but.......????

What is actually on that CD, then? From what I hear there's no tracklisting or anything provided. Also, does your copy of the film work OK. I'm hearing lots of rumours about farily widesprees problems with that.

Oh, & I adore both Gremlins scores.

And Coma was absoloutely amazing in the film.

NP Planet of the Apes (Elfman) (Just for Andre, you understand). btw Is it just me, or is that three note percussion thingy an inversion of the piano thing from A Simple Plan?

Hi again, Marian - well, I admit I probably should see COMA again... I was about 12-14 years-young and I really considered the movie being extremely dull - so it was half of the hilarious effect when out of complete silence Goldsmith started the PLIM PLAM PLOM...

I will check it out when I get the chance.

I’ve always wanted George Clinton’s music to Dollar for the Dead, and
I have several Rabin scores that I enjoy, but I was finally introduced to
my first and second migraine when I watched (and heard) 3,000 Miles
to Graceland and Gone In 60 Seconds.
