Saw the movie this weekend and enjoyed it. Haven't heard anything about a soundtrack even though there is plenty of music in the film. Anybody know anything?

Yes - there will be a score release this month from Varese Sarabande.

More info and sound clips can be found at http://www.johnottman.com/

    Enjoy!

It's a shame that Varese can't seem to get their titles out before a film comes and goes at the box office.

Actually Shaun, in the case of BUBBLE BOY, the CD was supposed to be out in August, around the time of the film's release.

However, due to some legal issues surrounding a few credits on the album, it had to be pulled, reworked with the lawyers, and then re-printed.

    Hence the timing dispartiy.

I think Shaun's point was that it's a shame Varese can't get CDs out on time, as has been their typical track record. I agree with the sentiment in total.

It's true, though, that in all instances where releases are months off, the reasons why Varese can't get them out in time is due to lawyers and/or various contract agreements with the studios and/or record labels releasing the song albums. No disagreement there.

Yes, I agree - it would be nice for Varese to release score albums at the same time as the film. But sometimes, as it was pointed out for various reasons, it's just not possible.

It's a pain, and I'm just looking at it from a standpoint of sales. How many more people would have bought the album for Cats & Dogs had it been out when the film was still popular? That's a recent example. The Jay & Silent Bob score, Baby Boy, and Bubble Boy are others.
