Just got back from watching Scary Movie 2. What an armpit of a movie that was!

I noticed that there was no composer listed on the credits or on the poster -- who scored it? I remember rumours about Beltrami replacing George S. Clinton. Anybody know what happened in the end?

If it WAS Beltrami, the arrangements were pretty poor. I was disappointed.

I thought I posted this somewhere else...

Anyways, here's what (more or less) happened.

    - George S. Clinton wrote his score, which was unceremoniously tossed out.

    - Beltrami was hired to bring in 10 orchestrators to rework the TEMP SCORE in 2 days. Which they did.

    - John Debney wrote a cue or two

    - Two OTHER composers wrote some additional stuff.

In the end, the music editor used a bit of stuff from EVERYONE's work, and NO ONE got credit (probably a GOOD thing!).

Don't expect ANY score release from this one!

That really bites. Hey can anyone come up with an invention that you can hook up to the VCR (or DVD) player, and record just the soundtrack onto a CD? And you can even choose what songs you want, or both songs and score. I would love to do that with The Scout or True Heart

Yeah - it's a magical invention! It just "knows" what songs are on the film, and the score! And it magically removes the dialogue and sound effects!

Seriously, though, if you need the music that much and can deal with dialogue/sfx, then just hook your VCR's audio outputs into your sound card's inputs - and use a sound program to record it yourself, then burn it to CD.

I have a friend who swears such a thing exists, at least with some films, and has cdrs to back it up...is he just ripping from the right rear channel of a 5.1 mix?

    S~

PS..If such a toy existed(and someday I'm sure it will), there is one cat who will be RACING to the local DVD shoppe for a copy of The Road Warrior!! Huzzah!

Yes, a magical toy. And it would even put the tracks in the right order, etc. The only recording I have done off a movie for the music is onto my mini cassetter recorder, but then of course the sound isn't too good.....
