    It's simple really:

What composer or his style fits your own personality the most?

Gosh...I ask a question I have a hard time to answer myself....

It varies, but on the whole, probably Herrmann, Goldenthal or Elfman maybe.

    Bruce Broughton and Ennio Morricone.

(I had to be more specific than just saying Goldsmith, whose style pretty much engulfs all known styles of music and personality.)

Hummm self-deprecating attitude, accents from all over the place, bald-in-50-year head, misunderstood most of the time but not by his peers....I'm like Hans Zimmer. And guess what, I love his music too.

As if it's really easy to name all of the gush-gush Silvestris.

    I like that term.

    "gush-gush Silvestris"

And finally... someone else who enjoys that sappy Odd Couple 2 theme.

Ooooooh. Gotcha now. I would say your more of a James Newton Howard personality. Once you think you can pick up his style it changes. Like you.

Al, I actually haven't heard Fools Rush In... is that one I need to check out? And about the Odd Couple 2 theme... wow, it's highly addictive, dude. Great score all together... very heart warming. It gushingly evokes Matthau and Lemmon.

I'm not quite sure how to take that, Justin. Is that a backhanded compliment? As far as JNH's style is concerned... I would have to disagree. I've found his style to remain fairly consistent over the past few years.

Ouch. So does that count as a "libelous" or "defamatory" comment? (MM-TOS;5.1)

(I know Trevor, and I don't think he'd appreciate such comments....)

Well, Stephen Sondheim is not a movie composer, but really I am him 90% - although the last 10% of me is much more optimistic & romantic.

Jeron, that comment was plain as day. James Newton Howard's style does change but it's always better than before. Now you follow me. Scott, I would say your Elliot Goldenthal. Style is always unique and with every score something fresh is heard. You either really like it, or you really hate it. ;-) But people really like ya

For what it's worth: I'm Goldsmith. All the way. From the poignant (Sleeping With The Enemy, Rudy) to the Bold (Air Force One, Star Trek: The Motion Picture)- I'd like to think the best part of myself is signified by that music some way.

But then it would be narcisstic and/or incorrect for me say I'm as heroic or "cherub-like" as the the scores I've mentioned.

More than likely (or in reality), I'm like a bluesy comedic Randy Edelman or Randy Newman piece (but on the ladder, if I had the choice, it would be The Paper). I say that because sometimes, I'm a bit daffy. I'm also a bit Bugs.

I'd have to agree with this final deduction, Chris.

And Scott, I'd have to semi-agree with Justin's remarks. Though, I see you as a partial John Williams as well: You're classy, sensitive, full of wonderment, and your presence demands the respect and attention of your peers.

Well obviously you didn't get my humor.

I don't do hoes, nor drugs... If I did, however, I wouldn't be widely accepted around here... Hence me liking Rabin, who isn't widely accepted around here either

I'd have to say I might pick Randy Newman, from what I've seen that guy has the best sense of humor out of the bunch.

Scott, I might say Horner for you. Every time he speaks, he seems to be full of emotion

Except you don't sound gay when you do.

Fools Rush In has a few good gush-gush moments. Pretty much the basic Silvestri gush-gushing you've heard before, except with a different theme involved. If that's what you're into, you might as well give it a listen.
