You know guys, I remember we had an argument on this film and (old) trailer a while back... Well the new trailer is out, and it's even worse. Here's why I don't like this trailer and think the film is going to be, well, bad. Christ I have to get off right now, I'll post my thoughts in half an hour... In the meantime, watch the trailer... What do you think?

I've never seen the first trailer. But I'll tell you whats wrong with this one.

    • First thing, it uses the wrong choice of music. The music is too heroic and upfront. Its glorifying war, and thats never a good thing.

    • About mid way through the trailer I saw the words "AMERICA HAS, THE LAST WORD". Now....I can see people getting offended by that. It makes it sound like the Americans are of coarse the good guys and everyone else must die. As John Woo forgoten where he's from?

    • The trailer is not edited in a way that would make it seem appealing. Its like a montage of random action scenes, and by the length of the trailer I think we've see just about everything.

    • The trailer is way too long.

TimT, I agree with a lot of what you said..

The Gladiator track is completely out of line, and it really looks ridiculous to see these images going along with Zimmer's otherwise good piece.

The scene with Cage and his wife in the car reminds me of one thing: Pearl Harbor. She says some cheesy ass line about how life is great, and he says "no it isn't". Is this supposed to be funny or what?

Then there are all the slow motion shots, and when combined with the dialogue it really looks like a B flick that Dolph Lundgren would star in.

The only thing that really looks nice are the aerial shots, but I dig those in just about every movie so...

Jeron's got a point, if this movie starred
Lundgren in the place of Cage, I'd probably be looking forward to it

    Wait a sec, no I wouldn't.
