My friend recently caught a preview screening of the film, and he said it was pretty good. A solid 6, he says. He isn't a fan of scores, but I asked him how it was anyway. He told me that it was "really good; modern"... So, is there ANY sort of release planned for Rabin's score? Being a fan of Rabin's guitar work I'll probably love it, though I'm not quite sure how much score will actually be in the film. Anybody?

I has no clue Rabin was doing the score. Interesting.

He is also scoring Jet-Li's new movie "THE ONE".

The One? Oh cripes!!! I was actually excited to go see this movie. Now, the excitement level has diminished greatly!!!
But to be optimistic, maybe Rabin will breakout of this creative rut that he's in and start writing NEW material (like on Deep Blue Sea), instead of just recycling his old Armageddon, like on American Outlaw. MAN that was TWO YEARS ago!!!

I thought Rabin did a wonderful job with REMEMBER THE TITANS. Certainly didn't sound like ARMAGEDDON to me!!

I think Rabin can put together an awesome score for "The One". A much needed techno like score or just fast paced is what we will probably get. I have full confidence... Course I always do.

But will it have a score release or be another rap CD? That my friend, is the question!

I'd be VERY surprised if it got a score release. I mean honestly...how much score do you think will be in the film?

Isn't "The One" a Bruckcrapheimer production?

Those usually get score releases. With a few exceptions of course. Top Gun, Coyote Ugly and few others.

Actually, you spelled his name wrong. It's Bruckheimer.

No it is not, but judging from the trailer The One looks far worse than anything Bruckheimer has put out... And we all know what Bruckheimer has put out

The One actually looks like a cross between Highlander and The Sixth Day. :-)

Shouldn't even chime in here, but since I have to endure Remember The Titans at work nearly every day, I have to say this. I enjoy the main theme. It's nice. As for the other parts of the score, there's nothing worse than hearing synths try to copy fluttering strings. It's like trying to perform the orchestral sections of Hoosiers on a Casio.

    Grating on the ears.

Dan, I liked Remember the Titans but it seems he rises so little and fall so much. Come on. It's like Rabin's becoming the next James Horner. I wish he could write with some creativity like he did with Deep Blue Sea and Remember the Titan, and less like American Outlaw.
I'll see THE ONE because it's Jet Li and if Rabin delivers something fresh, I'll get his CD, if it get released.
