Hang on a sec ... Sean mentions Spicy Ramen falling out of the sky... http://www.moviemusic.com/mb/Forum1/HTML/006996.html
...and then the very next day a new member arrives with exactly that name? Co-inky-dense? Or the beginnings of another multi-ident conspiracy?

Ramen noodles are one of the very few things you can still get at 1950s prices.you can get like 10 of them for a dollar or something ungodly cheap amount.

Cheap...yummy...easy to make....and oddly silent now? Where are ya Ramen
That was pretty ironic Stephen, good catch

While I'm here again, here's a trivia question for you....can you name the Elmer Bernstein score that contains one TOTALLY electronic cue? All synth, no acoustics at all.
The winner gets....oh, how bout a copy of the score, when I have time and the resources to burn cds again! If you name another score aside from the one I'm thinking of, you lose though

Any thoughts!

Sean, just for the rec, I don't think you created SR. Someone else was obviously inspired by your comment and in a moment of light-hearted jokiness decided to create an alter ego.As for that Bernstein track ... I'm tempted to mention one of his sci-fi/fantasy movies (Spacehunter/Saturn 3/Black Cauldron) ... but I'll take a wild stab in the dark and say LEGAL EAGLES. I seem to remember a scene where Daryl Hannah's character had a weird art exhibition. Was this scene scored with avant-garde electronics? I'm probably way off base...

Good guess, Stephen, but nope that's not the one I'm thinking of....here's another hint...it's NOT a Sci-Fi Fantasy score! It's one of the last things you would expect, but I just got this recently and like it very much. I think that LEGAL EAGLES cue was by someone else, but I'm not sure. I don't have the short album for that one

Intrestingly, I never saw the post by OHMSS76. I have been using this handle for quite some time and for OHMSS76 to mention it the day before I registered is indeed spooky.

SeanI'll give it a try!

I would have to think the film must be representing something rather strange for such a cue to be used. Well, at least for a composer like Bernstein to use it. So, I'd have to say Bringing out the Dead. Since I hear it is a rather weird film.

Hey Sean!Nope, that's not it either...but that is a cool movie

I hope Bernstein's score is treated better in the upcoming Gangs of New York, since Scoresese kind of mangled it in BOTDead.
Oh well....really, off to bed now...I'm done mangling this review:-)

Actually, I am looking forward to Gangs of New York as well. Let's just hope it gets a nice lengthy score release!
Good luck on your reviewing. Though, don't do yourself harm doing so! Anyway, your little trivia game has got me wondering.

Ok here ya go...The (as far as I've heard so far of his work) the sole STRICTLY electronic cue that Elmer Bernstein has written is from.....
Stars n' Bars Track 13 2:58
Scored for bell synths, synth cello bass, water drops....very nice little piece, reminds me of something from similar scores by Pino Donaggio(very close to some of his synth work). And since this is the rejected 'Stars', I can be sure that Elmer wrote it, and not some ghostwriter! So the prize is safe with me! Huzzah!
NP:Synth music of Elmer Bernstein...who woulda thunk it

All the best,
