Ok, i am looking at the DVd today and it says on the back "Original Soundtrack on....." and I was like, ok the CD is out of print, why keep that credit. What is someone goes looking for it and can't find it.Don't people QA DVD credits?

Yes, the DVD credits were QAd.But you're talking about the actual FILM credits - you'll notice it says "available on Epic Records and Cassettes".
So, they just copied the poster credits verbatim.
Big deal.

"Film credits", as in "end credits at the end of the film"? I wouldn't even want them to mess with them.

No, film credits - as in the poster credits replication on the back of the DVD cover. They didn't mess with the film credits!

Speaking of the Goonies and music, there's a really bad joke during the organ sequence: Andy, the only Goonie who can read music, has reached a point on the sheet music where the notes are illegible. One wrong note and the whole floor will cave in. She says, "I can't tell if it's an A-sharp or a B-flat!" to which Mikey replies "If you hit the wrong note, we'll all be flat." Not only is it this a horrible (but really funny) pun, but A-sharp is actually an enharmonic spelling of B-flat, i.e. they're the same key on the keyboard. And in any case Andy doesn't hit anything that even remotely looks like and A-flat key.

Does anything on that bone-organ booty trap resemble a key...?

Any CD out there is simply a transfer of that LP or cassette.
But I know what you mean, Clayton. It's just not really applicable to GOONIES....

Well, sure - there are GOONIES LPs and cassettes in circulation. Unless everyone decided to burn their copies....

I don't want to pick fights here, but the information above is baah-loney. Bahloooney, too.Movie credits are a legal contract with talent and other entities (like record labels) that are usually binding forever, as long as the studio with the movie rights remains intact. This means all official replications of the movie's credits are required to appear just as they did on the first run movie posters, no matter what has happened to the talent (name change, etc.) or the product (soundtrack no longer being manufactured).
This is a very general practice, though, and not always the hard rule, as there are a number of differences you'll find if you really investigate. As it is, I've always loved hearing the stories behind the stars who get one line all to themselves on movie posters - this is nothing more than a deal point the studio makes with the movie star's agent. Somehow it means something.
As for all the different Goonies releases? CDs, cassettes, LPs, singles, you name it. They were all easily available at one point. Most real Goonies fans know this, because they've run into websites like TheGoonies.com!

I don't know what DVD Dan has, but mine reads that the soundtrack was available on Epic Records. In fact, I have the album right here. It's Epic Records. Anyway, I thought there was a release of this soundtrack over in Japan on disc. Am I wrong?Shaun

Shaun (and Peter):you guys are right - GOONIES was indeed released on CD through Edel in Japan. My bad. (But not generally available on CD in the US, if memory serves.)
As for the credits, Shaun, my DVD clearly says ".... records and cassettes....." - nothing about CDs.
And that's what I said waaaaay up at the top of this thread.
