Perhaps on his twisted and alienated mind he considers that to kill some chickens the same as small children doing slave work on dope plantations to satisfy drug lords and corrupt politicians...

I will say again: dope should be free. People who want to use it would just go to the nearest drugstore and spend all their money on it, paying taxes and etc. Just like alcohol or tobaco. And yes, just like chickens...

The answer is simple: because most governments (including USA) and its corrupt politicians make lots of money from the traffic.

Why should they try to make it free and see all their profits going down with legal affairs as: pay their employee, taxes, etc?

And if that happens, how would they finnance the right-wing guerilla on all the third world countries, etc, etc...?

Regularly and moderately consumed cigarettes are much more dangerous than regularly and moderately consumed alcohol (particularly to the non-smokers who stand nearby), so why are cigarettes legal?

why is this thread allowed while a thread about homosexuality is locked? they are both off topic from movie music. in my present state of mind (i admit to having some beer and smoking tonight) i find it difficult to understand some of the double standards here.

Probably because we're discussing this situation instead of fighting.

Hummm...not quite true, since our little friend Hasta did call me names some point above and then, lacking a better argument, tried to mock me by pointing my english dialect grammar errors.

I believe PeterK is using the "Live and let Live" policy, which is always the best.

Just that. I hope Hasta can understand it now.

What it has to do with Andre, although I know you believe your country to be the only one that exists, is that in this country there are those who refuse to eat , purchase, or have anything to do with meat due to the fact the way the animals are treated before we eat them. This is no different , as they would vehemently state, from what you are talking about. And before you say chickens verses humans again, remember George Carlin:

"How come when it's us, it's an abortion, but when it's a chicken, it's an omlette? Since when did we pass chickens in goodness. Name six ways we're better than chickens. See, nobody can do it. When's the last time you heard about a chicken that came home and beat the **** out of his hen."

The point is the oppression of LIFE should be directly attributed to those who are perpetrating the violence, not the product purchaser 80 miles down the road.

People have enough to be responsible for with taking care of themselves individually and their individual actions.

Geez... what is this dork talking about? Chicken rights?

I presume he eats grass. But wait! Isn't it wrong to kill little vegetables?

And he is right: to consume drugs is the same as to eat lunch. We need both to survive...

I wish I had been old enough to have seen the Grateful Dead. Their music is fun when I get high (I like it even when I'm not high but I wanted to party with hippies...have any of you seen the Dead? Was it fun?).

I like to hang out with people who smoke pot more than people who drink too much. The people on pot generally don't get mean...that's the biggest difference I see.

Someone once mentioned a good question to ask about stoners or drinkers...

"if you're at a concert or a ball game and there's someone getting loud, aggressive or violent...are they drinking or are they smoking pot?" There is only one correct answer and if you've hung out with both you know what it is.

    Joey

PS--I love chicken!!!! KFC isn't really that great. I remember the old Pioneer Chicken but I guess they all became Popeye's. I like Popeye's though...they're kinda spicey. Are there other good chicken franchises around the country that we don't have in California?

Like I said Andre, there ARE people who say that they will not consume chicken because of the way the animals are treated. An absolutely ludicrous argument in my opinion. I am a carnivore (actually an omnivore) by nature and couldn't give two cares about the fate of the chicken that ended up on my plate. Their arguments sound ridiculous to you? Saying we are held accountable for the insane way they are treated by insane chicken oppressors?

No difference to me is the argument you make for me being accountable for enslaved humans insanely treated by insane governments. Likewise, I don't care about the sweatshops that might have produced my clothing. It's not up to me to save the world through indirect purchasing habits. I am a consumer. In a natural system. Just like when I chow down on chicken. Whether we light up a joint tonight or not isn't going to save those oppressed people you speak of. To take care of a problem in Australia, you don't travel to the Antarctic first. You go to Australia to solve the problem and take care of it at the root.

Get the simple point this dork is making?

By the way, isn't it your neck of the woods where this oppression you speak of is occurring? We've got things taken care of in that human slavery department on this side of the fence...

Well...actually all that stuff sounds pretty tasty right now! :-) Out west here, we Have a burger chain called Tommy's (though they are mostly in the greater L.A. area) that is just the greatest (not greatest as in, big, quality, wholesome burger goodness but rather, the slopiest, raunchiest, in the worst part of town (generally) at 3 a.m. when you're hungry kind of greatest) stuff in the world. Many a munchy has been battled by Tommy's...in fact, I would love a triple chili cheese burger right now...yummy!!!! :-)

Joey168943, yes I feel the same way about drinking as well. Same pretty much goes for cigs as well.

Get off yourself man, you try to avoid the fact you are wrong by using another example you think people won't share the same feelings on.

Alot of people have died because of drugs or died because of circumstances created BY drugs. One can only hope you meet with one of those circumstances. It's people like you that make this world a bad place.

I suppose you wouldn't mind if your employer, if you have one, was called and informed of your use. Maybe a random drug test. Have you seen COPS or talked to some? The things people will do under the influence? The things people do to get the stuff. Truly the lowest form of life on the face of this planet, even a certian record producer is better than them.
