These Goldsmith scores are listed in the new release section here at MovieMusic.com

    THIS IS EXCELLENT NEWS!

Varese should have more info, but it's too late and I am tired. Wooohooooo!

Is this a joke? Peter, are you serious!? Varese don't seem to have any info on this on their website... but then again, their news section still has breaking news like "Jerry Goldsmith and Paul Verhoeven re-team for the third time on the director's latest film HOLLOW MAN"...

Anyway, if this is true...could it be that Final Conflict will be finally available with good, remastered sound??

Correction: FSM has a statement by Mr. Townson saying that indeed both titles are coming out.

For Final Conflict, it says: "REMASTERED FOR DRAMATICALLY IMPROVED SOUND!". Something that is NOT included in the part about the first Omen score, so it looks like the new release will REALLY sound good!!

    COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

I don't care about THE OMEN, I played this to death years ago!

But as for FINAL CONFLICT, well it's about time, I'm sure that when I get this it too will be played to death!

    Good news eh Marian

In the space of one year, Total Recall, Aliens, now this ... Varese's "Deluxe Editions" is the best thing to hit soundtrack releases in decades!

"The Final Conflict" expanded? Freakin' A! I just want the soundtrack, regardless of length. Am I the only one who heard the "Main Title" of this film in the main titles of "The Vanishing?

Yess!!! Come on!!! This is excellently brilliant news. Me is now a very happy person to be soon. Hooray!!

Incidentally, who currently has the rights to Damien? It'd be great to get a complete release of that too...

I'll get banned for this one...

    I don't really care.

The Omen is one of Goldsmith's scores I like least. In fact, I don't like it at all.

As for Final Conflict, never heard it. What's it like?

Could very well be his best score ever, at least one of his best without a doubt. The original release has extremely poor quality, so while I can't remember much music missing on the CD, I'm very excited about the remastered release.

It's not very similar to The Omen (though that's one of his best, too). And I don't believe in playing a work to death. There are many CDs I don't play too often anymore, but every once in a while I still like to listen to them.

NP: Urban Legend (Christopher Young) - Thanks, Sean!

    Marian's on the ball here...

It's big, grand stuff. Much more variety than the original score. Wonderfully beautiful moments, big rousing & exciting cues, & incredibly fierce & terrifying sequences too. With decent sound, this is likely to become one of the cornerstones of any self-respecting Goldsmith collection.

The main title sequence to THE FINAL CONFLICT had one of the best choral themes I think Goldsmith's ever done, and it was made all the more poingnant when I finally saw the film last year - a pretty cool opening title sequence!

I don't care, Peter. If he doesn't like The Omen, there's no need for him to post on this board.

Not just Goldsmith - everyone! Then there's the silent and reverent The Monastery, the ominous, exciting The Hunt, some great "astronomy music", etc.

If I order the two albums will I be reinstated?

Hmmm. Since Varese obviously listen to what I say, what about Images? Or Heartbeeps? Or Spacecamp? I have no idea who holds the rights to those scores of course, but I've only heard excerpts from all three - all of which I liked.

Or for a disc that has been previously released by Varese: I hear there's lots of unreleased stuff on Williams' Dracula...

Or, to leave Williams territory: Isn't about half of the score absent from the Sphere CDs? My favourite Goldenthal score, and while I have no idea what's missing, I'd definitely pick up an expanded release.

NP: Star Trek: Insurrection - Expanded (Jerry Goldsmith) - Thanks, Sean!

Well, it could mean something that so far all the Deluxe Editions have been European recordings. No reuse fees, guys. So it may take a little longer for US studio recorded scores. Still, this doesn't diminish the great things that Varese is doing. Bravo!

Wow, and a CD of music from ABC's "The Mole!" -- Fantastic! I always hoped it might be released by Silva since it was recorded in Prague. However, Varese picked it up instead, just in time for the next season to start!

...and I knew I held out from getting The Omen for a reason...
