In an interview with Davis at www.musicforthemovies.com someone asked Don this...

"If they made a Jurassic Park 4, would like to come back again?" and he replied by saying this...

"Absolutely. It would be dependent, of course, on who the director was (obviously, if Spielberg were to direct Jurassic Park 4, Williams will certainly be scoring), and whether or not my schedule would allow me to be free to score it."

So davis wants to do it if he gets the chance the question is do YOU want him to do it? If not who else? I am thinking of Williams (but probably not) but maybe Silvestri or possibly Debney they might do a good job. Or for definete no question replacements how about James Newton Howard or maybe David Arnold? But I think Davis would be the safest.

Also who thinks that James Horner would do a sucky job?

    Np: Jurrasic Park (John Williams)

I certainly would like Alan Silvestri to do it. With so much orchestral magic in his own scores, I believe he is THE ONLY one who could make Williams' original themes sound even better.

Yeah, I'd vote Silvestri too, also James Newton Howard.

Don Davis is fine. If he won't do it, give it to Goldenthal, or Gordon.

    Don Davis all the way.

    ...or Richard Band.

Bruce Broughton would be terrific, I think. He has a real knack for colorful action cues. "Thru The Planet" from Lost In Space anyone?

call me stupid, but I have a sneaking suspicion that a Carter Burwell dino score would simply kick ass.

IS Bruce Broughton still active in Hollywood (or anywhere else) ??? I've thought that he has retired or something... which is a bad thing because also I love this man's MAGIC TOUCH.

"Thru the Planet" is a gorgeous piece of music on its own!

David Arnold...I still think the guy can work magic with themes...

His score was the best part of Godzilla...looking at that score as inspiration for JP4 I think he would be a good fit.

I don't think Don Davis should return, nor should John Williams or his original themes. I say, hire an all new composer to score the new Jurassic Park. I think, Jerry Goldsmith would be a fine choice. If I had to choose one composer though, it would be Richard Band. It's been too long of a wait for him to score an epic and beautiful score for a large budget movie. He's capable of doing such a thing, but he's never had the chance. All for Richard Band, say I!

I was wondering whether you were going to chime in and support my suggestion, Dylan.

I'd like to here what Band could do with an orchestra the size Davis used... I don't think he's ever worked with an ensemble that big before.

Me neither, that's why I think it would be so wonderful if one day he got to. And to a film like JP, I think it would work beautifully using Band's talents and a full blown orcastra. I can almost taste how deliciously excellent that would be.
