King Solomon's Mines comes immediately to mind. Fantastically fun score for a hilariously horrible movie!

Angela's Ashes was a dreadful adaptation of the book, but it featured one of the finest scores Mr. Williams has composed in years. I listen to it and imagine a better movie.

The Matrix had an incredible score yet the film was a load of trash hidden in an array of SFX.

Off the top of my head:

Invaders from Mars - The film (which used to scare me as a kid) is absolute crap, but Christopher Young's score was terrific.

Wing Commander (David Arnold/Kevin Kiner) was a solid score for a silly movie.

Godzilla (Arnold)...what is it with David.

Cutthroat Island (Debney)...most consider it a poor movie (I actually enjoy it...don't tell anyone!)

It's more difficult to find a good movie with a poor score.

I'm not overly fond of the score for Saving Pvt. Ryan (Williams)...but off the top of my head I can't think of any others.

Snake Eyes - Good film, not so good score. But I still listen to it every now and then. It's better with out the movie.

SBD, it's nice to know that there was also someone else who used to be frightened by Invaders from Mars

In my opinion the 1979 Universal remake of DRACULA (starring Frank Langella) was a disaster, but the score by John Williams is one of the greatest Gothic horror scores ever created.

1941 is fairly terrible, but John Williams' score is stunning.

NP: Some daft poetry, waiting for the 2nd half of the Bernstein concert on Radio 3.

I personally like Spielberg's 1941 - it should not be taken too seriously. The movie was made tongue-in-cheek, as was Williams' own score. The "Jaws" opening sequence is A CLASSIC piece of comedy

Alien 3... great film. But what the hell was with all that noise?

How bout we start with Silvestri's "Quick & the Dead." Next I'll go with Mark Mancina's "Speed 2: Cruise Control."

"GI Jane" wasn't the best of films, but Trevor Jones' score, especially the main theme are awesome.

I would include James Horner's "Krull", but I have some deep seeded love for this film, I must identify with the cyclops or something.

Ya know, Elia Cmiral's "Battlefield Earth" score has great moments too...

However, I think I'll have to end with Joel Goldsmith being my #1 favorite score for a stupid movie for his wonderful work with "Kull the Conqueror." Out of context, this score is rousing, beautiful and inspiring.

I was going to say RED SONJA but like KRULL (mentioned above) it's kind of a guilty pleasure, so goofy it's good! Both films have tremendous scores!!
