Now that i really think about it, these are some of the episodes that had music i liked- Part 1 & 2 that introduced 2 face
-Part 1 & 2 that introduced Clayface
-The one where the joker and his men wore masks while he released a gas through out the city from a garbage bardge.
At filmscoremonthly.com i posted and someone listed a petition, i suggest that anyone who likes the music as well, sign it.
Great Danny Elfman theme for the show

Uh...um ,didn't Shirley Walker composed the TV theme?

Yes, but the first season used Elfman's theme from the motion picture, and Walker made use of it in several early episode scores. The Joker episode in question had some excellent an unique juxtapositions of Elfman's Batman theme with Walker's original Joker theme. If Batman: The Animated Series were a Japanese anime it would have at least one soundtrack CD for each season.

I wholeheartedly agree that these scores should be released. In fact, there's a petition to get them released. I implore everyone who hasn't already (even you new guys) to sign it. It's here:
http://www.petitiononline.com/2454For something to tide you over, try and find Walker's excellent score to "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm"; not the Reprise Records cd, but the complete score cd-r.

everyday, at 4:30 on Fox I used to be glued to my TV set to watch Batman. After not having any good cartoons since Ducktales, Batman came as a breath of fresh air. Adult plotlines, sad endings, quality animation, beautiful music...I saw every episode!
some things that stand out to me even now:-the episode involving the penguin and some kids. The kids end up saving batman I think. Walker's penguin theme was used a lot, making this one of my fav eps.
-the 2nd or 3rd season opening titles...when it was retitled the "Adventures of batman and Robin". It introduced Walker's new Batman theme...sadly its never been released.
-Robin's theme. Heard in a few episodes, it was ver swashbuckling.
-The main theme to the Batman/Superman adventures really needs released.I can't believe Warner has never released any of these scores- when the dvds start coming out next year I want some bootlegs!

I will also keep my fingers crossed that one day we may see the animated scores on disc. Hell, if Varese put a disc a music from friggin' TV show SEAQUEST, then another label could afford at least one 30-minute album for he animated BATMAN series! And Debney's SEAQUEST scores sucked as well, which was a bummer.

Folks - I'd love to tell you there were plans, but during the course of putting together my article earlier in the year: (http://www.moviepoopshoot.com/score/7a.html)
I regret to say no one's doing anything. There's a possibility of something the team have worked on since seeing a release.I've stayed in touch, so if I do hear anything...

If anything, WB would probably have a better time marketing the music from their entire DC animation department. If not from individual shows, then at least a compilation album that contains pivotal themes from:1) B:TAS
2) The Adventures of Batman and Robin
3) Superman
4) World's Finest movies (Batman and Superman, I believe there were two)
5) Justice League
6) The upcoming Teen Titans cartoon (Cartoon Network in June/July).I exclude Batman Beyond because for some reason the music for this particular show seems to be released without much fanfare to begin with.

But there is a problem with that. Walker made so many memerable contributions, just featuring one or two cues and then other shows would be another slap in the face for her.
"Feat of Caly" part 1 & 2
"Two-Face" Part 1 & 2
"On Leather Wings"
"The Last Laugh"
"Christmas With The Joker"
The Clock King episode and that's all the ones i remember at the moment, the ones in quotations are the episode names.
It's been like 10 years since the first episode aired. Anyone ever going to even try to release these?

From the good people who are slowly releasing Knight Rider, comes another piece of news:Columbia House will finally be releasing Batman: The Animated Series on DVD. The company will offer both the DVDs that Warner Bros. had previously released, as well as new compilation discs.
The animated series will be featured as a part of it's "TV Greats" line, which is scheduled to kick off in the spring. The first disc will reportedly contain the episodes The Cat And The Claw, Parts 1 & 2, Cat Scratch Fever, and The Lion & The Unicorn. This disc is set to be a part of a reported ten volume collection.
Columbia House previously released episodes of Batman: The Animated Series in a twenty-eight VHS collection. The The Cat And The Claw, Parts 1 & 2, Cat Scratch Fever, and The Lion & The Unicorn episodes were also featured on the same compilation tape in the VHS collection. Columbia House hinted that it will be bringing it's most popular collections to DVD, Batman: The Animated Series being a top candidate.
