Hey Dudes and fellow John Carpenter fans, I just got some excellent news. Even though it hasn't been posted on the Varese Sarabande website yet, they will be releasing an album for his Ghosts of Mars score. It's a surprise and a half, I'll admit.

Practicalyl everything of Carpenter's has been released on Varese, hasn't it? Even the Halloween sequels, even the unused one. The only ones I can think of that weren't are Big Trouble In Little China and In The Mouth Of Madness.NP: THE MUMMY (Jerry Goldsmith)

Dan's right. Almost everything with the exception of In the Mouth of Madness, Escape From LA. (which Shirley Walker co-composed), Vampires, and Big Trouble In Little China weren't released by Varese. I wonder how long this cd is?

From the famed director of Halloween, Vampires and Escape From New York, John Carpenter’s Ghosts of Mars is a harrowing tale of rescue and escape from a colonized Mars in the year 2025.
John Carpenter returns as both director and composer of this journey into darkness. Eschewing any sort of traditional approach to the score, Carpenter has created what could very well become a rock instrumental classic. Featuring best-selling guitarists Steve Vai and Elliot Easton (lead guitarist for 18 years with The Cars), members of the group Anthrax and the inimitable Buckethead, one of the most bizarre and enigmatic figures in American underground and experimental music, the recording sessions for John Carpenter’s Ghosts of Mars amounted to a legendary gathering of some of the greatest rock instrumentalists of our time.
Long inhabited by human settlers, the Red Planet has become the manifest destiny of an over-populated Earth. Nearly 640,000 people now live and work all over Mars, mining the planet for its abundant natural resources. But one of those mining operations has uncovered a deadly mother lode: a long- dormant Martian civilization whose warriors are systematically taking over the bodies of human intruders.
Lt. Melanie Ballard (Natasha Henstridge) of the Martian Police Force is on transport assignment to bring James “Desolation” Williams (Ice Cube), the planet’s most notorious criminal, to justice. Williams has no plans to make Ballard’s job easy, and what begins as a battle of force and wits between cop and criminal soon turns into something more fundamental: a battle for human survival in the realm of the Martian warriors. It’s civilization against civilization as Ballard and Williams join forces in mortal combat with the Ghosts of Mars.

Unless Varese was involved in an LP or Cassette release, they had NO involvement to my knowledge. Do you have any more information?
