Cool!
I think I participated in that contest, too, but I didn't win.I did win a competition once: Back in primary school, the price was a cheap watch. And because they believed my name is female, I got a PINK watch...

I entered that comp at Silvascreen too. Doesn't look like I won either. Timmer, congratulations you swine!!
Gae NP The Lion in Winter (On the John Barry compilation CD, not the score
)By the way, did you notice the Patrick Mcgoohan question was wrong? He didn't play the whatever character it was (checked at the IMDB) It was another actor...something like the "Bishop of Durham"...I dont even thing Patrick McGoohan was in the film was he? Perhaps they're confusing it with "Braveheart"...maybe it referred to that movie and not The Lion in Winter. I'm confused!!

Timmer expounded thusly:quote:
So Greg, was the CD 'Britney', 'J-Lo' or 'Mariah'...I just want to know that you made the right and 'classiest' choice!Well, I wasn't trying to gloat or seem too elitist here, but since you had to "insult" my high-class tastes, here's what I won:
1. A recording of Beethoven's Symphony #1 & #2 by the Cleveland Orchestra.
2. Movie tickets to a local showing of Citizen Kane.So there.

This board seems to be a breeding ground for competition winners. I received THE LION IN WINTER in the mail today. Since I hadn't ordered it, I went "Huh?" (as you do) and then the penny began to drop, and I checked the Silva Screen website. There I was, on the winners list, alongside our illustrious Timmer ... well, in front of him, actually
I'm well pleased. I've never won a CD before. And it sounds fantastic.

Whey Heh!, join the club Stephen, glad you could make it!
I thought the recording was really good (not as good as the original recording) but what the hell, it would be pretty boring if it sounded EXACTLY like the original, plus there was a few tracks not on the original recording!
Can't wait for the re-recorded Robin And Marian and The Last Valley.

For those interested, John Barry's new non-sountrack album ETERNAL ECHOES has a U.S. release date of 9/18/01, the cover looks like a cross between TBOT and U2's Josua Tree?!
...can't wait!

Well, Timmer...I didn't want to make you jealous, so I didn't mention that Famous Monsters Of Filmland magazine had a special Ray Harryhausen contest a few years ago, and...I WON an autographed photo of Ray, and an autographed coffee mug featuring poster art from two of his films!
