    Like, Star Wars... dude!

The End Titles from Poseidon Adventure do a fantastic job closing off that disc, too. Taras Bulba is another one that I feel has a very satisfying ending.

Jerry usually closes out his westerns with some good stuff. The recent release of Rio Lobo has two cool endings!

    E. W. Korngold dics always seem to have a great ending to them.

I've always been partial to the last three cuts on King Kong Lives by John Scott. Kong's Final Battle is a powerful tribute to Gustav Holst as Kong makes one last charge against them pesky Army types. Next comes the touching Birth Of Baby Kong and Kong's Death. And then you get the beautiful Return To Borneo/End Credits which brings the album to a satisfying finish. Go, John! The Final Battle cue is short and sweet. I'm surprised it hasn't been used as trailer music yet.

I don't know. For me, it's gotta be the last few minutes of E.T. Extremely dramatic and emotional. Just listening to that last bit alone, I get such goosebumps.

    TOO MANY GREAT CHOICES!!!

The last minute or so of the end titles to Horner's RANSOM are quite dramatic, and a complete 180 from the rest of the tone of the score. I'd think of more, but I don't have my CDs on hand to check (I'm at work) .

Tombstone; Broughton ends the score and CD with a full statement of the theme, which most of you know never appears in fully developed form within the film.

Edward Scissorhands and Empire Strikes Back both end quite nicely. I think the End Credits for Nightmare Before Christmas is an amazing end to the CD as well. Pee-Wee's Big Adventure's score would count too.

PAPILLON. The last track, over the shots of the abandoned penal colony, is almost at odds with the rest of the score (and the film's final upbeat image) but it acts as a satisfying coda, a musical wall of despair being built brick-by-brick ... until finally it releases us in the last few seconds.

THE TAKING OF PELHAM 123. Great end title - Shire transforms the relentless main theme into a more relaxed, tension-free version before capping it with a spine-tinglingly strong ending, on an almost machine gun-like rhythm - ba-da-da-da da da da dam! Totally cool.

THE BLUE MAX. Love that quiet, wistful end title, quite unexpected after so much powerhouse music.

JAWS. The final cue as Scheider and Dreyfuss swim to shore is just exquisite - and very welcome. Music to heal shredded nerves!

BATTLE OF THE BULGE. Another truly great end title, in which the theme gets its most satisfying work-out as the Germans plod tiredly homewards and the elderly soldier throws his rifle away and joins them with renewed dignity.

I meant the ending of the film. On the CD there is one more track on it, the track used at the "dinner" lol. The film ends with the Finale before the credits though.

I like the mentions of THE FAMILY MAN and POWDER. Even though it's not the ending per se, I've got to mention "The Finals" from HOOSIERS [or endings from several other sports scores as well--THE NATURAL, RUDY, and FIELD OF DREAMS, to name a few].

If "End Titles/End Cast" from Jaws 2 ended in the middle of the cue, without reprising the catamaran music, it would win hands down.

The most dramatic and uplifting ending is on the Mother of All Soundtrack albums - Walt Disney's SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS (-well, its latest release on cd doesn't end after the Finale, but anyway- )
Seriously speaking, there isn't a single ending that would surpass the beauty and the power of that specific Finale.

But, yes, John Williams' arrangement of "When You Wish Upon a Star" on the End Credits of CLOSE ENCOUNTERS is a very magical ending to a great score, as also Williams' own ET finale.
