I just went and sae JP3 it was great but I saw a preview for The Time Machine and there was the most incredible music for it. Two question who did the trailer music and who's doing the music for the film. The trailer music sounded simmaler to Goldenthal but I doubt it was acctually him.

I don't think anything is confirmed when it comes to who does the music for the film.

As for trailer music, I have no idea. I did not even know there was a trailer.

Yeah, it's a "legit" remake, based on the book, since it's directed by the great-grandson of H.G. Welles, Simon Welles.

He's been working uber-hard on it, so much so that he had to step down as director due to exhaustion. And Gore Verbinski stepped in to finish it up (while being supervised by Welles).

Looks interesting, from what I've seen. I know Digital Domain is working very hard on getting all the effects done....

My girlfriend thinks the '95 version of SABRINA w/ Julia Ormond is better than the old Bogart version (he had no chemistry with Audrey).

This is not a remake of the first film. It is a remake of the novel. The original film was a remake of the novel.

And yeah, who did the music in the trailer?

Just looked at the film on IMDB... $122 million budget? They must be mad. I don't think anybody is really looking forward to this film, and it isn't going to have a huge base, so it better be damn good or it's going to flop. Then again, I liked most the work Welles has done in the past, however Verbinski isn't at the top of my list. One thing is for sure, the trailer isn't the least bit interesting or intriguing.

Best bet to score the film, Alan Silvestri! Actually, the teaser trailer isn't the least bit interesting, but I think it'll surprise a few heads when it does come out in December especially since it's a Universal/Dreamworks collaboration hence the 122 million dollar budget. I guess Spielberg is take this one very seriously otherwise he wouldn't have invested in it. To me the trailer music sounded a bit like Jerry Goldsmith.

Why? Because he worked with Verbinski?

As it has been said on many occasions, and in many places, Simon Welles (for all intents and purposes) is the final director on this film. Verbinski only came in to finish it up because of Welles' medical problems.

So it's not safe to assume Silvestri will do it... we'll just have to wait and see. (Though it would be great if he did do it!)

I wouldn't be surprised to see John Powell or HGW get this one. The original director is a big fan of Horner too; if Horner wasn't so busy this winter, I'm sure he'd be attached to this one. I also read somewhere that the composer of METAL OF HONOR has written a demo or two for the movie, and might be attached as well. Wait and see, I guess.

Yeah, well I want Christopher L. Stone to write this score. And to hell with other composers.

To hell with the others don't think so. And so what if Silvestri has worked with Verbinski..it's a successful partnership isn't it. You stick with what works.

Powell I can see maybe..Not H.G.Williams, he's busy scoring Tony Scott's Spy Game. I'd like it to be Silvestri, but how bout this name BRUCE BROUGHTON. He would be a perfect choice.

Why would anyone look forward to it? The first one is still good.... It was one of those titles I was waiting for on DVD.
