GNP is going to release additional music from the show in mid-July. Hopefully it will include music from Joel Goldsmith and Richard Band.

Speaking of the great Richard Band, does anybody know if he's going to be scoring any more films rather than just staying in the TV score area? Not even Full Moon Pictures (a company that makes cult horror and fantasy films which Band wrote many fine scores for) is using him anymore.

Is there a link to the announcement on GNP's site? I checked them out but couldn't find any news about this.Chris Harben

FSM's latest issue mentioned it, and I got e-mails from the label and Ford confirming it.

But he decided a while back that he wasn't going to score any more horror movies, which is 99.9% of what Full Moon puts out.
As for scoring films... its all about exposure. And after two decades of horror B-movies he's unfortunately been overlooked by most, regardless of how talented he is.

Has anyone picked this cd up yet? I was wondering, how is this cd? I'm curious to find out how Richard Band's material is on there.

Dylan,I picked up this disc a couple weeks ago and am really enjoying it. It is basically comprised of a selection of suites from various Season 1 episodes. One of tracks is by Richard Band (Cold Lazarus), one by Dennis McCarthy (Enemy Within), two by Kevin Kiner (Emancipation & Tantalus), and the rest by Joel Goldsmith. If you enjoy the series, it's worth picking up. The disc certainly serves as a terrific companion to the Milan SG1/Joel Goldsmith disc released way back when.

Agreed. The disc overall is satisfying, but I think I liked the Kiner material overall. The Goldsmith stuff just seemed too synthy.Dan

I think it is a terrific album, I just wish Richard Band had a little more included. The same with Dennis McCarthy. Other than that, it definitely does make a great companion disc to the Milan CD. That said, I like the way this CD is put together better. Since, it gives the listener a better overall listen to the season's scores. Let's hope that a Season 2 CD is not far behind.
Anyway, which suites are your favorite?
