If you felt that way why did you bother to get it in the first place?I don't remember any of the score in the movie, but Revell's orchestral stuff for kids movies (Street Fighter / Power Rangers) are pretty good most of the time. So I just took a chance.

Why did I get it? Why wouldn't I? I collect scores and I like to discover new ones :-)Not every one can be a winner!

TimT,
Why did you get Evolution if you thought the score was "typical"?Shaun

Well its sounds pretty good to me after my first listen. I caught a few themes and other parts I didn't recognize in the movie. One of them being a part that sounds too close to Silvestri's Contact score. The problem may maybe that as with all bootlegs, they always try to release the score in its entirty, and place the tracks as the cues appeared in the movie. Thats not always such a good idea for a great listening exprience because not only do wind up with alot of small tracks (in this case 36), a majority of them were for dialogue and don't really sound like much of anything. Then the flow of the album may be a uneasy because its all in film order instead of being arranged in an order were nothing gets too slow or too fast before loosing any intrest.
At almost 70 min I can find at least 40 min of great music worthy of an offical release though.
