A run down of the credits at the IMDB shows that this is based on a Cornell Woolrich novel. Woolrich stories have been made into a number of films over the years, Rear Window is probably the most famous. This Woolrich novel, Waltz Into Darkness, was filmed once before in 1969 as Mississippi Mermaid by Francois Truffaut with Catherine Deneuve and Jean-Paul Belmondo. The score then was by Antoine Duhamel.
And it looks like this time around they're making the same mistake, putting a strong male in the lead--Does anyone believe Antonio Banderas is so homely he needs a mail order bride to get laid? That's as silly as Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock using spells in Practical Magic to get boyfriends, as if they needed to.
The person who saw Original Sin somewhere and leaves his comments at the IMDB says that the score was great, but neither he nor the credits list the composer, so does anybody know?

Terence Blanchard did the score (my eyes are sorta blurry this morning, so pardon me if I didn't spell his name correctly).I can't understand why Hollywood decided to make another film based on Cornell Woolrich's WORST book, other than to get Jolie and Banderas totally nude. The movie is going to be horrible.

Hey Lou, I recieved an advance copy of the score and it's really good. Terence Blanchard is really underrated in my book. This score is in a latin mode..with his usual trumpet solos which are really cool.
And it features a wonderful performance by the London musicians.I'd get the score and ignore the movie which looks well, boring. Here's a track listing of ORIGINAL SIN

Thanks for the info guys. I guess the cue titles tell the whole story (Billy's Dead, Brothel, Prison Talk). The film may suck but I don't need much of a plot to enjoy Angelina Jolie in the nude. Except you know it'll just be some poor dumb body double.

Oh, and thank you Ford for emailing me with the answer to my query as well.Once again, it's a shame that Ford got fishchipped from the board and has to lurk instead of post. It's also a shame that more of you don't seem to mind or actually agree with the K on this.
Why is it that PeterK always makes me feel like Joseph K from The Trial?

Lou, nice try! You should know better than to expect to walk into a Kafka novel and know exactly what's going on without already knowing more intimate details of the author's work or the characters involved. Are you going to join our chat soon? People are asking for you. Monday evening, 7pm Pacific. See ya then.
