    Anybody?

I'm still hoping to find a score only release soon.

I haven't heard anything about it. I saw a preview of the film and the score is very good. Typical of Powell and Gregson-Williams. The best cue is the bit when Shrek escapes from the Dragon's castle - sounds like David Arnold and the Propellerheads track "Backseat Driver" from TOMORROW NEVER DIES. Unfortunately looks like we're gonna be stuck with the 3.09 track on the regular release...

Ooh, wow! Drool, drool, drool. I'm really hoping that there's going to be a full score release now. I mean, the Powell/Gregson-Williams/Animated film combo has done well in the past...
Although, they both did only have one CD release, & little in the way of songs...

    Bad News from Varese:

I e mailed Mr. Townson about a "Shrek" release and he said they they were not going to do it.

    bummer.

Fear not, Folks, Antz took a month if not more to get released after it's debut the first week of October in 1998. And it was, of all companies, released on Angel/EMI.

Chicken Run was handled last year by RCA Victor. It might be a good idea to check with them or Dreamworks Records themselves. I think they could handle a score release by themselves for once.

I also should have added that Mr. Townson said that the film only had about 25-30 min of total score, and while they would ha e liked to do it, they just could not.

One of the accounts I produce/edit at the Post House I work at is Kroger retail food stores. They are having a Shrek promotion and for our commercials I believe that the audio underscoring the :30 and :10 versions of these spots is from the Shrek score. Very dynamic and catchy. I wouldn't worry about them releasing it. I'm sure they will.

    FYI

Just saw SHREK - fun movie, but not "excellent". The jokes were spot on, though.

The soundtrackis gonna be released by DreamWorks Records, but it only has one track of score, sadly.

No news on a score release....
