I saw a bag of scores at 2.50 today. I picked up Emma (by Portman) and Cry, The Beloved Country (by Barry).

The ones I left behind, and which I thought I'd ask you about before going back for them, are:

    Bad Girls (Goldsmith)
    Beethoven 1 & 2 (Edelman)
    The War (not sure who)
    Consenting Adults (Small)
    Pelican Brief (Horner)

    The floor is yours.

Bad Girls: I really like this one. Great action/adventure score. It's Goldsmith. I don't know what else to say. ***1/2
Beethoven 1/2: Well, I'm not a big fan of Edelman. They are fun scores to listen to. Edelman uses some classical pieces (Beethovens 9th) and incorporates them into his own style.**
Pelican Brief: It's Horner. Don't expect to be surprised by the music. It's one of Horners 1st takes at thrillers. **1/2
The War: Thomas Newman I think. I have it but can't remember it very well. That's not a good sign.

Can't say about the others, but get Bad Girls. It's a great score. Though really too short.

Camillu, If The War IS the Thomas Newman album, I'll gladly trade you for it if you don't like it?!

Bad Girls: Very fun Goldmsith western/action score. Get it!

The Pelican Brief: I really like this score. It's one of Horner's more minimalistic and original efforts. The action music is good, but his standard crashing piano stuff. It's the quieter pieces that make this score shine, and the subtility of theme that most people seem to miss. In addition to the beautiful (albiet not obvious) main theme, Darby's Theme makes an appearence in two tracks and is quite enjoyable. It also doesn't really sound like other Horner themes, which is a plus. I have to recommend this (****) but with one reservation: most people I know don't appreciate it.

NP: The Mummy Returns, Silvestri (Track: Rick's Tattoo)
It seems like this is all I've been playing for the past couple days... hmm.

I am not really sure on this one, but from the movies, I only saw Beethoven, so I'd go with that one. Probably wouldn't cost you much to rent the movie, then you'd kind of know what it was like...
