Rhino are definitely going to release a LETHAL WEAPON compilation CD -- with music from all the films 1-4. Cool!

I am glad someone finally picked up this project and is seeing it to completion. If I recall, wasn't this anthology announced in 1998 when the fourth film was released? This should be a great collection, and finally, we can have it.

Well, I announced it on SoundtrackNet - and my source was Kamen himself. But he didn't say that it would be a compilation album; my impression was that it would be four score releases, hence four CDs.Dan

Betcha $20 the street chase/Leo at hockey game music from the first/third films still won't be on here, and if it is, it will be altered in some way to offend most of us who loved that piece of music.Shaun

Don't forget, it's also used in the 2nd film for the car chase in the hills with the surf board in the face ending. Also, wasn't it discussed not long ago that Kamen didn't actually compose that music, which is why we've never seen it released?

Word from Kamen is that they are preparing to release LETHAL WEAPON 1. Then they might go ahead and release the others on individual albums (my assumption is that they'll see how well the first release does, and go from there). So, when you hear about a release date, go buy it!

The cynical filmscore enthusiast would say they should release them all together, because see how one will do will just destroy the chance of the rest getting released.Me, I'd love to have a copy of the first film's music, I have Lethal Weapons 2 & 3 cd's. While 3 had score but not the pieces we wanted to hear, and 2 had variations on the score's additions and restatements of the first films score, the music is good on both discs (personal opinion).
The only drawback to the disc is that stupid performance of the title song by the most dubious of bands from the 80's: Honeymoon Suite (guys who would have you believe they were the next Night Ranger). The song was written by Michael Kamen and Eric Clapton, oddly enough, but someone took it and overproduced it and put a pretty-boy "hair-band" which ruined it. It could've been a more moderately tempered song for the film with Clapton performing.
If Rhino were listening and thinking smartly, they would release the first three films scores again (minor additions above what the previous incarnations had), and then finally release the disc for 4 (Songs included).
Wouldn't it be nice to see them package the scores together like the DVD's?

I think I'll change my name to RickyRoma, then just go down the line of GGR characters. Why not? Who needs an "identity" on this board?

Why another name change, Watcher? I just like to keep everybody apprised of who's who, in case everybody decides to say "Welcome, new person!" when in fact you are not.Actually, upon reflection, maybe you changed your name, as most of us do on this board, as a sort of "change of sports season" name. For instance, I always think of hockey when it comes to winter, so I like to go by "Shaun Rutherford" on this board during that season.
When spring arrives, I like to keep everyone on their toes by changing my name to either "Shaun Rutherford" when I think about baseball, or "Shaun Rutherford" when I am more in a "table tennis" sorta mood. Either way, sounds more "spring", right?
Summer is a tough one to do. I mean, summer contains the brunt of baseball, but also the tail end of basketball (the only time I enjoy watching basketball) and other sports such as water polo and horse mingling. "Shaun Rutherford" goes so well with hockey, and baseball and table tennis are so well-represented by "Shaun Rutherford" and "Shaun Rutherford", respectively, that summer has to have a BIG, COOL, "See Ya, Basketball! HELL-O Horse-Mingling!" name. So, for that, I go with "Shaun Rutherford".
Autumn reminds me of one thing. Don Ellis. But, after I'm done thinking about that sweet, sweet album, I think of football (formerly America's Pastime, now America's Bastard Child Who Can't Read Real Good). So, obviously, when I think of football, I think of the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders. And when I think of the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, I think the same thing everyone else does: Shaun Rutherford. And with that, another message board name for another couple of months of posting.
Bet you guys haven't even noticed!
Sincerely,
Danny Gonzalezposted 05-20-2001 12:00 AM PT (US)

And I won't say it because I kept my word to someone really close to you and i'm not the type to say stuff like some other people here.
You know what..I don't really give a damn about anything you say or do to me because you know what I just don't give a damn anymore. PERIOD. I JUST DON'T GIVE A DAMN. Ban me if you want to I don't care because it's not gonna stop me from expressing myself (like Shaun) . You guys already kill this for me, so like I said I JUST DON'T GIVE A DAMN. Dude, why not just pick one screen name and stick with it? It's the normal thing to do. Just imagine this one for a second: if you never changed your screen name again, Shaun wouldn't have said a thing....The more you change your name, the more you "weird-out" people's thoughts about you. If you want people to treat you with any sort of normal behavior, be normal yourself. Ok? Too much to ask? I know you may not intend any harm by changing your name every other day, but others don't like it.
Just think about it. The more you change your name, the more the crazy stuff keeps happening. If you want it to stop, take a look around.

You know Peter, this is what really ticks me off about this place. First off, I'm sticking with this name and it's your fault your server didn't provide me with my password for my Hard Target screenname, so i had to resort to those other crap ones. That's not my fault and I even tried to contact you and I can't even get ahold of you so time and time again, so don't blame me on that one.Second of all, I don't like other people singleling me out for stupid crap like Shaun Rutherford does. I simply mind my own business and my name always comes up and for what? For public humliation, that's what. I dont' do anything wrong and when I try to help someone else on this board. It's always this idiot who has some smart ass remark to say and I'm not going to have it. Like this thread, all I did was answer Steve Hughes thread and there he is saying something stupid and starting something. Like I said I'm not going to take his garbage anymore, I've taken it for almost 2 years now and I'm not going to have it understand.
Lastly, look I mind my business and I respect your site because I have friends here and if this continues. I won't come back to it. I like coming here and helping others who wanna be helped with certain things and be involved with conversations because I do love film music and you guys are mostly treating this like a business more than anything else and that's exactly what I hate. I don't anything except mind my own business and Rutherford always has something smartass to say to me..why don't you do something about that. Huh!You're the head honcho..All I ask is for peace and privacy that's all. I'm sticking with this name alright, but don't you checkout how many other people have multiple screennames huh. How bout that? I'm definetly sure I'm not the only one..that's for sure..

How come everyone else manages to communicate with me on their first try, and you are unable? I've not once received an email from you asking about any of this. Ask anyone, when they send an email to me about the site, an answer is delivered within hours. I don't pick and choose who I'd like to answer. If you want your Hard Target password, why not just send an email and ask me to see why the server's not delivering it? I will find out exactly why.No one else has ever had a problem contacting me, I don't see why it should be any different for you.

Well I tried a bunch of times and nothing..so I'm even gonna bother anymore. What's the point. So I'm staying with this one. I'd rather live silently. Like said above, it this stuff continues..I won't come back, because it's not fair for someone like Shaun to single me out as a personal vandetta he's had for over 2 years now. I'm beyond that alright. All I ask is for some respect among our fellow board members and traders..we're here to share right. As we should since it's our God given right. Or at least a warning to this guy, but I'm sticking to this name for sure since Hard Target is dead.

Ok, first off. Watcher, I don't care about your little threats. Here, I'll get it out in the open for you that way it's not some sick stupid little black mail thing you got going on like a spoiled brat. I am a manic depressive with anger problems. I am getting help with it and so far I have been very good at it. Now what Danny? Plus, I am completely calm. I think that's obvious. I'm not spazzing out on everyone like a little kid just because they were picking on me. Second, if you click on PeterK's name, his e-mail adress pops up, Plain as day! And don't blame him for this. As for Shaun, don't judge a book by it's cover. I am sure he's probably a great guy in real life. He just has some issues he needs to resolve. As do you, me, and everyone else. You're no better than Shaun, he's no better than you. We're all equal on this message board no matter how you look at it. And it doesn't matter anyway, it's just a message board! If it upsets you this much to come her, don't!Clayton

Danny, the email address "reindeergames01@aol.com" doesn't even exist. This is not my fault. It seems in your habit of changing identities, you wiped out the email address associated with Hard Target. Obviously, the program isn't going to send a password to an email address not associated with the screen handle - there is at least that much protection!I will have the system send a new password to the email address you are using for The Watcher. You go from there.

I remember this disc being announced in 1998 and SEEING what LOOKED like it on the shelves, but I couldn't afford it so I didn't even look at the cue titles. A month or so ago, I found what I THOUGHT was it -- for just four bucks! -- so went ahead. Turns out to be covers of various of the songs from all four pictures. Not a bad deal, really, it's nice to have a nearly identical version of the original "Lethal Weapon" song (objectively not great, but I like the tune).Ah, Shaun Rutherford ... aka Shaun Rutherford ... also aka, strangely enough, Shaun Rutherford ... truly a man for all seasons

Note to The Watcher: I have zero personal beef with you, but it DOES look shady when you keep changing your name (contrary to random accusations, something I for one have never felt the NEED to do, except in my very very earliest days at the old FSM Board, when I had yet to find my purchase there). What can't you imagine that LOOKS LIKE? And I don't buy for a minute that you've written the K and he's failed to answer. Additionally, you don't make yourself look very good by attacking Clayton, who after a rocky start, seems to me to have been behaving himself quite well of late, and deserves more kudos for that than threats from the "what the hell is he talking about, and who cares?" division. People have no trouble shooting themselves in the foot without help and encouragement, as it is. I hope you're binding your present wound most tightly. Blood circulation is notoriously bad down there, and it takes a long time for those scars to heal.

Whatever the case, so be it. We're just going through the motions, hopefully for the last time (if I didn't feel any hope for this being the last time, I wouldn't be involved). This thread is a sterling example of why I used to post all over message boards like this one, and since have largely relegated myself to only reading them.Too many people don't act like PEOPLE on message boards.
They think they are anonymous, and create alternate personas. They attack without provocation, simply because they think that their anonymity exempts them from any responsibility or repercussions.
And sadly, one bad apple with a rotten attitude can indeed spoil the bunch.

Maybe more on other boards, but we pride ourselves on getting people to be people here.Have you ever witnessed the open discussion of peoples' problems on other boards as you have here? I commend people like BMUSTANG and Clayton for opening up their very real problems here. We're ready to support.
