Hey, with the Varese release of "Aliens" and "Total Recall" you guys think they will release a DX disc for "The Abyss?"

That would be nice. Though, I would rather see Air Force One get this sort of treatment first!

As much I'd want an expanded edition...it's not likely you'll see one at this time. Especially since the score was recorded in L.A. with a Union orchestra. The only reasons you saw Deluxe Editions of both Total Recall and Aliens because they were both recorded in London and Varese had the 10 year option of renewing these scores. And that they did in a big way. The Abyss is a terrific 45 min. album.

Yes, of course! Though I can dream, can't I!

Anyway, I'll take what ever I can. If that means, something like another version of Chain Reaction or whatever it might be, I'll get it. No problems here!

    Sean Robert Abbey

gads, aside from the last 3 entirely essential tracks, the rest of The Abyss is a throwaway.

yes, shame on me, I suppose.

I can live with that, because, you see, I primarily live in shame anyway, so what else is new?

How much more music is there in The Abyss anyway? Silvestri scored the final cut of the picture; the music for the expanded edition scenes was composed and performed by Robert Garrett. I do not recall too much additional music from the original cut.

The end title suite is a mix of other cues in the score.
