But you said above that you already have Mummy Returns? That's one of the 4 I counted.

I'll probably get both, too, but not at once - orders from MM.com and Express.com are incoming, and I shouldn't throw out all my money at once.

    just recently recieved:

    Airwolf Themes 2cd set
    Sylvester Levay,Udi Harpaz and
    Ian Freebairn-Smith

    The Mummy Returns Alan Silvestri

    Aliens-Deluxe Edition James Horner

    Canone Inverso Ennio Morricone

All of these are great cd's but right now i'm in Airwolf score heaven.I've had the set for a little under a week and it has been in my cd changer almost the entire time since I recieved the discs.
This set is a must have for anyone that remembers and loves the great 80's tv series Airwolf.

Well, I started out writing what my current order is, that was just shipped out. Though, I didn't put in the details.

Anyway, the copy of The Mummy Returns I got yesterday, was a review copy that Decca sent me. The others are those that I had pre-ordered. And in fact just came in later this evening.

Well, what do you think? Was it worth it? (And isn't Black Escaflowne a great track? I can't get enough of that one. )
Final Q: have you played this on a good sound system? The bass really comes through with good speakers.

I think the whole album is great. Though, my favorite is the "First Vision" cue. I also like "Black Escaflowne", "Dance of Curse II", "Into Gaia" and "We're Flying". In fact, all of the tracks! Even the songs!

As for a good sound system, I am afraid not. As of now I only use a portable discman with headphones. It did sound great though.

    Purchased:

    • Dmitri Shostakovich: Symphony #5 (Live) / Chamber Symphony (Vienna Philharmonic, Mariss Jansons) - I attended the rehearsal for #5 back in 1997, and taped the "real" performance from the radio. I've always been waiting for a CD release, and yesterday I saw that there actually is one.
    • Sergei Prokofiev: Ivan the Terrible (Philharmonia Orchestra, Riccardo Muti), Alexander Nevsky; Sergei Rachmaninov: The Bells (London Symphony Orchestra, André Previn) - I recently borrowed this very Ivan from the library, but it was too scratched to make a CDR copy. Also, there's extra stuff on this 2CD set
    • Antonín Dvorák: Slavonic Dances (Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Rafael Kubelik) - Also recently borrowed from the library, also too scratched to copy. Plus, this is the remastered "Deutsche Grammophon Originals" release

NP: Dmitri Shostakovich: Symphony #5 (Vienna Philharmonic, Mariss Jansons)

I got Untamed and Beneath the 12-Mile Reef from FSM, but I have to wait a week to hear them...they're in Nevada...

I should also mention I got a sore back from sleeping on a damned air mattress.

NP -- Deep Rising, Goldsmith; this seems like a seriously underrated score to me. Gotta love it, although the album IIRC is a fraction of what was in the film

    In a few days ago...

Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles (Basil Poledouris) - Not too bad, but not the typical Poledouris music one usually gets with his albums. However, there is some nice variety within in comparison to much of his recent work.

NP: The Mummy Returns (Alan Silvestri) - Well, I finally saw the film. Much better than I expected. Too bad some of the finale music is not on this album. Being, almost completely drawn out by SFX within the film though. It is hard to hear what I am missing.
