    Ok peepos and peepas,

Time for some new MovieMusic polls. Give me some good ones, I am serious. Real tough ones, preferrably with no more than 3 options to choose from. The users need to be more involved in this site, and coming up with poll ideas doesn't cost a dime. I have loads of polls scratched down here and there, but I figure you guys might have other interests when it comes to polling. But, maybe not. Let's see, shall we? Be honest, be brutal, whatever.

I think Jerry is much more talented and qualified to produce an appropriate score for JP3 than his SON. But he's not an option, so perhaps I shouldn't even bother.

Maybe I'll vote for one of the available options, such as John Williams, even though Don Davis is currently scoring it in his place. Nah. I'd vote Morricone. He's the second best behind the unfortunately absent Jerry.

There are some good poll ideas here though. The Goldenthal poll by John Dunham and a few of Hal's are pretty nifty.

    NP: Goldsmith's "Papillon"

-have all of the ones listed only you MUST HAVE COEN BROS AND BURWELL AS AN OPTION!

-but have after having seen film as an option since that is the true way to listen...after having seen it....then on cd or whatever.

Why does Ford Thaxton suck so much?

  • He forgot to take his meds
  • He needs to find the source...
  • He's gobbling up the world's supply of FishChips.

  • Ford Thaxton? Isn't that the guy who produced fantastic-sounding CDs like "The Ransom/Chariman" from LP and cassette sources?

This one'll get loads of respones:

Favourite score from an Argento movie:

    Bird with Crystal Plumage (Morricone)
    Cat O'nine tails (Morricone)
Four Flies on Grey Velvet (Morricone)
    5 Day of Milan (Gaslini)
    Profondo Rosso (Goblin/Gaslini)
    Suspiria (Goblin)
    Inferno (Emersen)
    Tenebre (Pignatelli/Morante/Simonetti)
    Phenomena (Boswell/Goblin/various)
    Opera (Simonetti/Eno/Eno/Wyman/Lanois)
    Two Evil Eyes (Donaggio)
    Trauma (Donaggio)
    Stendhal Syndrome (Morricone)
    Phantom of the Opera (Morricone)
    Nonhosonno (Goblin)

    Quite a tough one, methinks.

How about best score for a Ridley Scott film?

    The Duellists (Blake)
    Alien (Goldsmith)
    Blade Runner (Vangelis)
    Legend (Goldsmith)
    Legend (Tangerine Dream)
Someone to Watch Over Me (Kamen/Vangelis)
    Black Rain (Zimmer)
    Thelma & Louise (Zimmer/Mancina)
    1492 (Vangelis)
    White Squall (Rona)
    GI Jane (Jones)
    Gladiator (Zimmer/Gerrard)
    Hannibal (Zimmer).

That one could have some quite interesting results. There's some mighty fine (& some mighty overrated) scores in that list...
