I know this is kinda a stupid question but I have to ask. In your opinions what is the goofiest music you've ever heard? For me it's Moron mountain on Space Jam and "Chickens are not organized" from Chicken Run. Speak soon.

(And probably the first score, too, but I don't have that one on CD yet)

    "Main Link" from LINK
    Elfman's PEE-WEE'S PLAYHOUSE scores
"Hoedown Ballet" from DID YOU HEAR THE ONE ABOUT THE TRAVELING SALESLADY?

And JJ, I agree with you about Carl Stalling. His music, while "looney" (forgive the pun), ably combined with the animation and humor to make the Warner Bros. cartoons all that more memorable.

There's a very goofy sound at the beginning of "Visitor in San Diego" from Williams' Lost World that always makes me laugh (that's also the third cue in the quiz thread from a while ago, if anyone can remember. Without Mr. Search Feature, I can't post the solution there).

    NP: Batman (Danny Elfman)

Probably not the type of score most are thinking off as loony but for me this thing is way out there in goofyland (but I like it).

    Eric Serra's "The Fifth Element".
    "Blue Diva" just kills me!

    Hi,
Timmer you go it. Face Like a Frog is the goofiest music I've ever heard. But it certainly is enjoyable. I think Elfman has a lot of goofy, but good stuff. Or is it good, but goofy. Either way....

The most goofy score I ever heard was for the really lousy made for TV film Do Not Fold, Staple or Mutilate-1971. It was scored by Goldsmith and it is the craziest sounding thing I have ever heard. Best, John.

Thanks for the Scott Bradley mention. Though I do think Stalling did some of the greatest cartoon music ever written while at WB, he does tend to overshadow the equally brilliant but oft ignored contributions of Bradley over at MGM.

There was a Milan CD about eight years ago of music Bradley did for Tex Avery cartoons (not to diminish his contribution, but the CD made it seem like Tex Avery was the focus of the CD, not Bradley. Marketing perhaps - more people have probably heard of Avery than Bradley.).

this may not exactly fit the topic, but the goofiest score i've ever heard is by far Morricone's Mission to Mars.It is also the worst and most inappropriate score i've ever heard as well. The film was bad enough but when you actually take your eyes off it to listen to the music and say "What the hell was that" you know the music is BAD! A huge disappointment from one of my favorite composers.

Barbarella, by Charles Fox and Bob Crewe is totally goofy and totally wonderful. This really does run the gamut, from 60s pop to mock-classical, with some weird electronics thrown in (those killer dolls crying "Nya Nya, Nya Nya"). Time for a good CD issue (I think that the original LP chops off the instrumental introduction to the title song).

My brother saw this on TV with the music credited on-screen to Michel Magne, though it was the Fox/Crewe score we all know and love (?). How can that happen?

I'd actually go with "End Link", simply because it's more developed. "Main Link" ends too soon for me. I love the whole score, really.

What!! I can believe this. I can take that the music didn't fit the movie at all (that's your opinion, mine is different), but it wasn't "BAD"... it was great!
